"...He should hold seminars " I wish he would too. That way we can get in a manager who isn't afraid to think outside his narrow little box. Excerpts from Telegraph interview with Stan Kroenke Source - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...98557/Arsenal-webchat-with-Jeremy-Wilson.html Arsenal Webchat on above link this afternoon from 2.30pm my friends And to Stan I say - How about putting your money where your mouth is !!!!!
Stan is not going to put any money into the club, the reason he bought us is because he thinks that in 5 -10 years after all the FFP comes into place arsenal will be very well placed compared to other clubs. This means the share prices will rise and he can make a great profit without putting any money into the club (bar the money he paid for the shares). It is actually pretty good business sense, now it remains to be seen how FFP will turn out, if it is implemented correctly then in theory we will be very well placed and could be very successful, this will inevitably lead to the value of the club increasing, and stan making a good profit on his shares.
I think the big statement made by Silent Stan was that AW will decide when he leaves the club which might upset a few fans but I'm happy with the reassurance AW receives....
It seems that there are some fans who want to criticise everything that anyone one of our players, manager or share holders say. Stan gets criticised for saying nothing, and then criticised for saying something. What the hell is he supposed to do? Tell everyone that Wenger is ****? In the end, these fans who have nothing to say other than constant criticising, will soon be falling on deaf ears.....
No, he could put some money into the club or allow the other major shareholder to do so by offering him a seat on the board.
and then what? We end up spending loads of investors cash, become just like the clubs that we're all saying have ruined the game with their indiscriminate spending and fall foul of FPP. I think it's clear that Usmanov and Kronke have very different visions for our club. I don't think that simply throwing money at a situation, inevitably means that problems will be solved. Arsenal are already on the right track as far as I'm concerned.
It won't matter if the investor is willing to put money in and taking more shares which the FFP rules would allow. However it wouldn't be in Stan's interest of course to have his own shareholding diluted. There is also no guarantee the FFP rules will work in our favour where matters on the pitch are concerned. If you can't perform on the pitch you can't perform on the pitch. While we may be able to score goals of late, our defence still needs work and if we do not show intent or ambition in January we could well lose our top player and captain. Who knows what next? Hence it isn't as simple as throwing money at the problem as you are trying to make out. Do you really think having no coaching of our defence is any indication of being on the right track? And I'll say this again - last I looked this was still a forum where members could lay out and debate without being called out for being too critical. Some people it seems are never satisfied till everyone accepts the status quo.
Sorry to say but it looks like PISKIE is sounding a little brainwashed. He seems to mirror whatever tripe the management comes out with. Personally id rather they didn't say anything and just get on with it. Buy up or shut up. If Stan's going to make a contribution, then make it on the field. Buy us some proper quality with the money you got out from the £60m odd sale!!!! These slippery toads thought that we forgot the £60m odd in sales from our 2 star players? They thought by buying a couple of bargin basement players that it would shut the fans up? Forget teflon Tony, the whole friggin Arsenal management are a bunch of slippery customers indeed!
Since when did you want Wenger immediately sacked? Anyway in terms of the actual interview the main thing I got out of it was that he backs Wenger 100% and will not sack him. Doubt he follows us too closely.
No I don't want him sacked, immediately or otherwise. I just wanted him to realise that under him we are not progressing anymore. If indeed we are going nowhere I would hope that he will have the good sense to step away or this hell-bent style of wanting to do everything his way will only drive our performance downwards. The refusal to bring in defensive coaching other than to tell the players to get on with it themselves despite their having asked for it just doesn't make any sense. How many times has he said and this goes back to the spring of the previous season that we could learn to defend against set pieces and yet nothing happens there is just bewildering. Arsene has done great things for us but every manager has his day. I hope he realises when his arrives and leaves at the right time before it begins to impact on the good that he has done. The board is unlikely to sack him which is fine unless of course it becomes a real crisis. But when the time is right, he should go under his own steam.
****ing hell I practically wrote an essay to you in reply but my internet cut out so I lost it all . Basically what I said was we shouldn't be too harsh on him for not walking out as he is a very proud person and after all that he has done for us it would be a real blow for him to admit to himself that he is pulling the club backwards and should resign. In my opinion (although this is only speculation so don't view it like anything approaching fact) he plans to leave in 2014 when his contract runs out and will probably go all out for a trophy using all the money we have available before then so that he leaves on a high. Then again the bit about him spending loads of money is probably just hope on my part
