Which player to you hope Sir Alex signs this summer? Sir Alex said he'll make roughly three signings this summer. this is my thoghts: One will be a keeper and it should be David de Gea because Sir Alex confirms he will be a replacement for Van Der Sar. Another will be a midfeilder for replacement for Scholes, as much as i want sneijder to join united but i don't think that will happen because he wants to stay at inter, so i hope he signs Modric.Modric is a world class player. then i don't think Sir Alex will sign another striker, with Owen signing a new contract and Berbatov confirming he'll stay at united and danny wellbeck, Macheda might return so i don't think he'll sign another striker, i think he might sign another young midfeidler or defender. what do you guys think sir alex should sign this summer?
I believe he will stay in England to buy his players. I really think he will sign Ashley Young which means Nani is more likely on his way out, unless he plays in the centre and an attacking midfielder as he has done recently for England. Which I doubt. In that case I think Modric will come in to fill the void left by Scholes. Sneijder would be a dream obviously but I just don't see it.
I really hope Ashley Young doesn't sign. He is so overrated it's untrue. My big fear is that we would endup signing Rodwell which, if that happens I will cry.
No he's not overrated he is very suited to United. No doubt about it I would rather have Nani but I reckon Young will flourish playing for the best team in his home country. Would be a good replacement for me. Scores his fair share of goals, great at set pieces and has a wicked cross on him.
ye and he can take corner's. Next season we really need to improve our corner's. Theres games wher ewe have soo many corner's but we hardly have a decent chance from a corner
I'm pretty certain United will sign three players and possibly four. A keeper - De Gea, a central midfielder - Modric, an attacking midfielder - Young (poss Sneijder but not looking likely) and perhaps a young DM - Rodwell or Raphael Varane. It is all going to be about the midfield and a keeper.
Nani is not going anywhere, the issue lies with Giggs unable to play on the wing and Park is not really a winger. We need another winger to support Nani and Valencia. There was a time in the season where Nani was our only recognizable winger and after the season he has had, Ferguson won't let him go anywhere and Nani has stated himself that he won't leave. However, Young would not be a good winger to buy, grossly over rated and is over shadowed by the vastly superior Walcott and Lennon for England. Downing is also a far better winger than Young and Young just has 14 apps for England, which is quite embarrassing for a player approaching 26. England are hardly blessed with talents on the wing and it highlights Youngs poorness as a player. If he joined Man Utd, he would not contribute that much and would be exposed for being extremely average and over rated. I can't believe people compare him to Nani. Nani has 45 apps for Portugal and is just 24 and starts ahead very technical wingers and is Portugals 2nd most important player and has 19 assist and 9 goals in 45 games for them. That is very impressive statistics for any player, whilst Young can't even start for England and is 26.
Young is not poor as some make out and in a better team with better players, he would raise his game considerably. I remember Utd signing Dwight Yorke many years ago and was concerned he wasn't up to the Utd standard. However he settled into the team, raised his game and scored a bagful of goals as well as creating many opportunities for Cole. I do agree with you about Giggs and Park though. If Nani does leave and I am not advocating he goes; then we would need a replacement.
Downing is terrible. Adam Johnson on the hand is a very good winger and would have been a good replacement for Giggs.
Adam J is a very good player and it is a shame he went to City. We need another winger anyway, to compliment Nani and Valencia. Young is not even consistently class for Villa. I like Valencia but he is a bit limited but his attitude is first class and he seems a humble player. However, he needs to improve in a lot of areas. Nani is progressing well and I can see him having a big season for us next and he has so much to his game, so can progress even more. I believe if we sell Berba, we will need a top class striker and we need another winger, instead of Young I would look for a young talent like Hazard or Costa. In terms of Central Midfielder. This is a hard one, of course we need some fresh blood but Spurs will be reluctant to sell Modric and I can't see a deal. Sneidjer does not want to leave Inter and Inter don't want to sell. I would like us to sign De Rossi but he is soon to be 28 and that conflicts with our under 27 year transfer policy. So where does this leave us? I am guessing we will look to sgn a very young midfielder or attacking midfielder and I would love us to sign Mario Götze.
Would prefer Hazard or Costa to Young, who wouldn't? Just think he is not as overrated as some people here think.
Hazard is extremely overrated. Every time I see him play, he does **** all. He was poor against my beloved Turkey yesterday as well. I'd take Downing over any of those.
