Just wondering if i remember correctly or i am making things up? But did Pearson not say he was going to have all the transfers sorted ASAP once the window was open because he knew who he was signing? Where are these players?!

To be fair, asap means "as soon as possible", which does not necessarily mean "immediately"

The window opens on July 1st by the way. Unless you mean the window in your house or office, in which case, it may have been open sooner.

it's always like that as players and clubs alike are playing poker with each other, and in the age of agents they have whispers in their ears.. it's like being at a party with a bunch of tasty birds, you try and hold out for the one you fancy the most; often blowing the other 'easier' targets and ending up disapointed..

The English transfer window opened on the final day of the regular season, it's been open for weeks and we've already signed two players, it's only in most of Europe(including Scotland) that the window opens on July 1st.

Well the transfer window does not open til the 1st of July, transfers can be concluded before then and deals negotiated, there is no stopping of that even the day after the window closes but the deal itself will not go through to the 1st of July, pretty sure thats correct.

So yes we can agree deals now just we can't officialy own a player til the 1st of July. However i doubt there is time to panic how many clubs have signed players in England? 10 out of the 92 football league clubs? Whatever it is i doubt there are many.

    Courtesy of the BBC website:

Although the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, domestic transfers between clubs in the same association (eg England or Scotland) can take place as soon as a club completes its last competitive 2010/11 fixtures. However, many transfers or signings, although agreed and announced at this time, will not formally go through until 1 July because the majority of players' contracts expire on 30 June.

If you look at the sides who finished above us last season have any of them done more than us so far? Millwall have lost Morison (and Harris), Cardiff have lost half their side, Leeds have lost Johnson with Kilkenny set to leave and a few other players as well.

I'm surprised Cardiff have lost Burke, Bellamy, Bothroyd AND Chopra.

    Hopefully they'll go down... :bandit:

Are you backing me up there?

As tbh that backs up my statement that it officially open on 1st July....

As somebody pointed out on an other thread, maybe sigings are being made/close to happening but the club aren't making any details public? NP and co seem to like to keep their cards close to their chest in the transfer market rather than shouting stuff from the rooftops, maybe a case of no news is good news? We can worry about lack of signings in the middle of August, June is too early to be worrying about that.

makes me wonder if they're in **** creek financially with missing out on the PL, if they've lost all these key players we're talking re-building the side big time..

And Adam Matthews to Celtic, plus the other 6 loan players they had including Oily. Big rebuilding job there this summer.

They've gone from having Bellamy, Bothroyd, Chopra, Keogh, Emmanuel-Thomas and Parkin easily the strongest and deepest front line in the league, to just Parkin...

Add to that Burke, Olifinjana, Koumas and Ramsey (a while ago) who they've lost from midfield and they're going to look much weaker!
