A good all round player who will do well for us in this division. We are not in the position of buying allegedly brilliant players for lots of money so amassing a very useful squad sensibly. I like it!
only a one year deal so looks like a good bit of business. Makes the Henry signing look even more odd tho......
Queens Park Rangers sign Gary O'Neil Gary O'Neil t By Pascal Lemesre, Championship Correspondent Filed: Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 16:10 UK Queens Park Rangers have announced the signing of Gary O'Neil on a one-year contract. The winger, 30, who moves to Loftus Road after his release from West Ham United at the end of last season, has previously worked with Rangers manager Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth. Redknapp told the club website: "He was offered a new deal at West Ham but he decided he fancied coming here because he feels maybe he'll get more game time at QPR. "He can run all day long, he's good on the ball, a good passer, he sees all the pictures in front of him and is a top professional." O'Neil had been training with Rangers for the last couple of weeks and could feature in their second league game of the season at Huddersfield on Saturday.
He's been training with us for a couple of weeks, so Redknapp, and MaClaren & Co must have been impressed with what they've seen. Harry must have a plan and vision this season and O'Neil fits the bill.
I really didn't enjoy watching Henry the other day but he's a professional footballer who's been playing at a high level for a number of years so I'm sure he'll come good. I just don't really want him to be first choice, though. Against Wednesday I would have had Jenas in his place from the start or Barton there and someone else on the right.
