With the transfer window now shut and looking at things properly I am pretty sure along the way and especially over the last few days there would of been the opportunity presented to the club to bring in another player or two. We have been linked with the likes of Jenas, Huddlestone, N'Zonzi etc. but would they have really improved us?

Under Keano and Bruce we probably would of got 1 or 2 more but not with MoN and Short, these two are top class IMO and will not settle for average players, we have been trying to get plodder off the wage bill for the last few years and if we have to wait till January for a target or what have you then so be it.

I am very happy with the 5 we have brought in, Cuellar is a very good defender IMO and if we can get a bit of luck and he stays free of all the niggling injuries he will be a top player for us, Saha is probably the best finisher at the club and same as Cuellar if he stays fit he will be a quality signing. Johnson well IMO he is the top 2 best signings we have made since we signed Super Kev, Fletcher will bag us 15 or so goals which we desperately need and Rose is a talented young lad who will do good at left back IMO. We now have an improved squad and I expect us to kick on and do far better than last season's 13th place.

As for the lads who are already here MoN has also gave them a confidence boost and not gone out like Hughes at QPR (really glad we never got him, don't like him at all) and ripped the squad apart when no one would of criticized him if he had done so. I bet there is still a few players in the squad that long term MoN does not want at the club but he is doing his work gradually, he never went out and say brought in average players just to replace the current lads for the sake of it and to me thats good management and good man management, it makes the players we already have feel wanted and part of the gaffer's plans and I am sure they will reward him in there performances.

I think good times are ahead for us as a club under Short and MoN, I cannot see no more average plodder and we will not sign players for the sake of it, if that results in them having to wait a few months to get the men they want then I'm sure thats the way they will go, I bet MoN and the club will be planning now for January and who can improve the side even further!

Ha'Way the Lads!!! Would love a win tmro

Very happy with our current squad and can't wait for MON's team to start taking shape over the season.

Should be a good season

Great deals, Dempsey will rot at Spurs. A waste but clearly not worth the wages for MON & ES or we'd have got him (regardless of shopping opportunities for Mrs Dempsey).
