Can anyone guess what it is? ;) <cheers>

Maybe we should share our best moments of the past 20 years? I was too young to be there in 92, well my dad didn't take me. Since then the games that stand out for me are Man Utd (3-3), Chelsea (4-2), and West Ham (4-0). Curbs leaving announcement caused a lump in the throat, whilst last seasons heroics of 101 points and the Hartlepool game just reminded you that through all the bad, we do achieve and have some success that many other clubs don't.

Bar 3 years, we should be very proud of whats happened over the past 20 years.

    Great thread, SuperC.

Today also marks seven years since I married my beautiful wife.

There have been many highs and numerous lows in the last twenty years, but one match sticks out in my mind more than any: the second play-off leg against Ipswich in 1998. Shaun Newton's cracker and The Valley was rocking like I'd never known before, and never experienced since. A truly wonderful night!

    God, I love Charlton Athletic.

I had been born the day of our final home game in exile (14 November 1992) and had no connection at all with Charlton until I was nearly 10 years old.

Nonetheless I have watched as much archive footage as I can, and every time I see Colin Walsh's goal go in the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

We are a truly special club.

Congratulations to you and mrs ponders! My parents just celebrated their ruby - yikes!

I know what you mean captain- I didn't start going till around 95, but have seen 'that' goal hundreds of times.

For those not on twitter- here's a post from Steve brown:

@browny12cafc: Incredible 20 years on and it feels like yesterday. The volunteers, the march, the weed pulling, the portacabins, the temp stands & 3 points

@browny12cafc: Mingling with supporters to get to the Bar in a portacabin. Target 10,000, team spirit, community spirit, old school players, camaraderie!

Remember the game well. Sat in the top left hand corner of the Jimmy Seed stand, as the away supporters were in the temporary stand at that time. Didn't stop singing the whole game, and the place was rocking when Colin Walsh scored that goal. Still not sure how we won the game to be honest, as there was a fair amount of pressure put on us from Pompey. Suppose it was fate that we won though. Even managed to get Walshy to sign the programme from that game a few months later.

Am showing my age now, but have followed Charlton since about 1980 (when I was 9), when my Uncle started taking me. Was also at the game for the last game at the Valley therefore, and the games at Palace (apologies for the swearing) and West Ham. Now live in Scotland and so hardly get to the games anymore. Doesn't stop me calling myself a true Charlton supporter though, and cheering on the lads every week.

Stand out games for me - Man Utd on New Years Day when in the old 1st Division - drew 0:0 with an epic performance from Bob Bolder in nets / Man Utd away in the cup quarter final - lost 3 or 4:1, but must have been about 8,000 Addicks fans there / and of course the Play Off Final. Plenty more I could mention as well.

Often read this message forum but hardly comment, but felt compelled this time.

    Come on your Reds!!!!!

Am I right in believing Pompey didn't take their full allocation so more addicks could get in? Seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Also, how fitting is it that we play Brighton at home on Saturday. Another club who know the pain of having to leave their home.

I really wish I was going now :(
