    Simple really.

O'Dea has shown what a great defender he really is now that he has a proper manager and players around him who know what they are meant to be doing.

Unfortunately the weak link at the moment is Tom Lees, but he will learn so much from Robinson, Connolly, Brown and Warnock.

Robinson is showing the leadership qualities we have lacked for years, and Brown is a revelation.

Even Connolly has mastered form we never knew he had.

Grayson has a lot to answer for. At least he is buggering up Huddersfield now.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Would Papa Smurf have brought warnock in had Redfearn won the games he lost? Who knows. One thing's for sure, despite on a draw yesterday, having played the Saints, the Hammers & Hull, we're still with more than a chance of top 6.

We really should beat Forest on Tuesday, & with other top teams playing each other, we really could benefit from some of these recent draws by finally moving up the table a bit. Keep the faith one & all. It could yet come down to the final game of the season against Leicester at home. MOT

Only thing I'm worried about is if Brown will be alright to play on tuesday, having played saturday. He's a fit lad, but at his age we should be careful. Top player though <ok>

I think theres a few (Brown, Clayton, Becchio) that could do with a rest. But we dont have the freedom or the quality depth in the squad to do it. Who fancies paynter/forrsell playing the becchio role? or thompson/pugh playing in CM?

Think Becchio's in the best form he's been in all season, I wouldn't rest him just yet. Although you're right, not overkeen on Forrsell or Paynter up top instead of him. If Becchio is rested I think we'd have to go 4-4-2 with McCormack up top with one of them though.
Clayton and Brown deserve a rest the way they've been playing recently, and personally I don't mind Pugh, and I think Thompson will be a top player given some time.
However you're completely right, we just don't have the depth in quality. Pugh is decent, but he's not close to the way Brown's been playing, and Thompson has a hell of a lot of potential, but he's not ready yet.

We can do a lot better than O'Dea. If Warnock can motivate an inconsistent, average Championship defender who's made some glaring errors, he can sure as hell do that with someone with some actual class about them. We need leaders, as Warnock himself has pointed out several times since coming in. Hopefully we can get the next Sodje/Naylor/Kisnorbo in, except without them being a crock-in-the-waiting, or indeed over the age of 30.

I wouldn't say no to getting him as a reserve, provided we ditch Bruce and possibly Bromby, but a playoff/auto-chasing team should not be starting Darren O'Dea in its first XI. Matt Mills would perhaps be an option, although I'm sure the management are already looking for who's out there. Let's hope Bates wises up for once and backs his manager.

Agreed that Brown's contract should be extended. He's an essential part of our midfield, and Robinson does the same for our defence. Dirty Leeds are back, and these lads are the beating heart of that ethos. We can't afford to lose that if we're going to thrive off the siege mentality that we need for a promotion push.

Need a strong dominating CB, we have too many finesse players in defence.

I'd be fine with Lees, Bromby, O'Dea and one other as our CBs next season. Get a Paul Robinson type in at CB. Sign Robinson up for LB and get a RB in to challenge Paul Connolly for his place.

Becchio doesn't need a rest, nor does Brown as they haven't played much. O'Dea won't improve as a player so wouldn't sign him. What's the point of signing players who won't make it in the Prem?

webber looks a decent signing but do question his finishing technique and final ball, but happy with that free signing.

O'Dea is one of the few that can hold their heads up from last night, along with Brown and McCormack.

But the one who should hold their hands up and take the blame for this is the manager. Wish he had had the guts to do that

Tom Lees is dreadfull and ive always said this, forget he's young, he's got no scope to get better.

Amount of goals he cost us is unbelivable.

Wakey - I do want promotion, and it takes the right players in the right places with the right ones around them. O'Dea (doesn't need an r added) has shown that he is a much better player than most had thought, Robinson has passion and is easily the best left back we have had in years (despite his lack of pace which is provided by White), and Brown has been MoM in last few games and it's shown he has still got it.

it's the other players around them that are key to get right

Your getting confused mate by a few good games,

Robbo passion, will end in countless sending offs, hes reckless, yeah he's played well but first time he's come across decent winger he got raped

Brown has played well lately, but he's not the answer, he cant last 90 minutes or play twice in a week, and has pace was fully exposed last night.

Odear isnt and never will be good enough

Brown was quicker than Clayton last night :) get rid of them all apart from McCormack who if he had the service last night definitely **** their defence up and Snoddy (who had his worst game for years last night)
