Since he has turned up he has made a big difference to our defence with a wealth of experience, get on the phone to Mark Hughes now Nige he should be made into our man for next season, then all you have to do then is replace the rest of the defenders starting with both full backs imho.

He has been an absolute rock, but i can only see him signing if we stay up. May be some interest from elsewhere but i have been ever so impressed.

Inspired acquisition - he is favourite to win most balls pumped into our box - how different to earlier in the season and our panicky defending?

Not so sure Hughes will let him go. He wNted him to go out and get some games for fitness and he has done that. Stoke fans love him too

Not sure that's entirely the case. Half a season is a long time to send out a player to get match fit! He's not likely to play for them until August, by which time he'll need to recover his fitness again!

Sending a player to a rival on loan as they have sort of implies it's with a view to a permanent move, which is how the local Stoke media reported the story. He is 30 now and they'll be looking to the future. Us signing Huth could depend on whether they can sign Wollscheid from Leverkusen.

However, if they have been surprised by his return to form, they may decide to hang on to him.

Also alot will depend on what Huth wants and if NP actually wants him. I got the impression he knew he needed someone and Huth was simply the best of what was avalible rather then we really wanted him

That's a good point Proud. Think he exceeded expectations and may have earned himself a contract offer if Stoke allow him to leave.

To be fair, I think Huth is the best defender we have at the club at the minute, so unless Nige has earmarked four top quality centre backs, I think we'll definitely be in for him. I'm sure Huth would be happy to sign for us because he's getting first team action here, unless the money is a stumbling block.
