Owen Hargreaves has been released by champions Manchester City after one season at the Etihad Stadium. Hargreaves, who managed only 13 minutes of Premier League action for City, was on a pay-as-you-play contract. The ex-England midfielder, 31, signed a one year contract last summer after Manchester United released him following four injury-plagued years. Well, if we can offer Dyer an extension why not let Hargreaves have a go?!
There will be loads of players released this summer who we will look at and say "what if", City would have played or even kept him if he was capable of lasting 90 mins. IMO it is the likes of him that we need to stay well clear of, even on a pay as you play. We need young hungry plaers to compliment the experience we already have.
