A good interview by him http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/2016-17/gylfi-sigurdsson-swansea-city-contract-3220730.aspx
Who would have thought EVER , that a Swansea City Football Club player would have a 30 million value on him , and he snubs any interest to go anywhere else . This extension of his contract is bigger than anything else that could happen .
I am chuffed to bits and gives me hope, that he is staying knowing we may be bringing some players in.
Credit where it's due, the board have done very well with this. Might turn a few heads towards us aswell when trying to sign strikers. He's of calibure we should be looking for now, not pissing Oliviera.
Signing Siggy changed the whole situation , I actually thought he would pull the plug . Having a player , with a value of 30 million , refusing to leave will have a dramatic effect on players that might come in and other players that might think about moving out . A massive moment in Swansea' s football history , a real crossroads and Siggy took the path to Swansea ..WOOHOO !!!! Anything is still possible with Ayew but Siggy's signature might just keep him here .
Good boy gylfi you know it makes sense looking at your record at big clubs......shame about Ash ....I think he is making a big mistake leaving a steady job and entering the unknown....good luck i think you may need it....
I hear that he will be time travelling between his normal position and the vacant striker position, it's amazing what can now be achieved in this 21st century, got it from planetyanks..................
I wonder whether Ash has given up the potential of a job after his playing days, that is if wants to go that way.
If i had to choose one player to leave out of Gylfi, Ash, and Ayew then imo i would choose ash because i think it's less of a blow and the easiest to replace with what we have already......It is still a blow as he is a good captain but we can sort that out.......I'm surprised at him wanting to leave after what he said a few months ago but it must be for money as it cant be to a better football team, A bigger club yes but not better....
I'm inclined to agree with that statement. It would be a huge shame if Ash left, but ultimately it's harder to replace goalscorers (Ayew, Sigurdsson) than it is a centre-back and in Amat & Fernandez we should get by in that department. He is a good captain, but Jonjo will fit into the role nicely instead.
I do agree, but I hate the statement 'get by' we are a Pl club and shouldn't just be getting by, If we sign another big physical Centre half, who can push them along with VDH then I get it, but just to put the money in the bank and not replace makes no sense, more than just a player we will be losing a leader at the back and as someone said I don't see any leaders in our back 4. But yes of the 3 would have to pick Ash.
Anyone else think that the " Williams Bid Rejected " and speculation over "Ayew " dissipating after the signing of Siggy , isn't a coincidence . In the big picture " The Siggy deal " may turn out to be twice as big as the original Bony signing . We will have a good idea buy August 31 , how massive keeping Siggy was and how smart the Americans really are ...
Not one to piss all over the party but didnt BR sign an extension just prior to upping sticks!! I will be glad when the window is closed until then anything can happen. On a side note just want to clarify something. Do I use the term Board when relating to good decisions being made and Jinks/HJ/Huw/Chairman when **** things happen?
