The famous Geordie darts commentator and massive Newcastle United fan Sid Waddell diagnosed with cancer and has taken an indefinite break from commentating on Darts.

Such a shame as he always livens up a darts night on the tele.

    Wish him a speedy recovery.

Wish him the best but it's not something you usually get a speedy recovery from.

Come on Sid, show them what you're made of.

I've been hearing about Sid today and we were having a discussion about his background, where he actually comes from etc. I was quite surprised at all the acheivements he has made during his life, not only is he an accomplished tv producer/director, he is also a Cambridge graduate. I wish him well in his battle against cancer.

Won't be the same without Sid commentating on the darts, he comes out with some cracking things, shame that he's got that horrid disease but i hope he recovers and gets back commentating!

Just a quick update on Sid from tonights Chronicle, it say's he's very upbeat and his wife Irene has said, "He's definitely going to beat this thing. Sid is very upbeat and positive and his doctor is optimistic. He's building himself up for chemotherapy."

Come on Sid, we're all pulling for you. <ok>
