Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has launched an incredible tirade against Spain and Chelsea players, telling them to stop 'bitching' at officials and get on with playing football. Van Persie claims he 'cannot understand' the behaviour of players who constantly put the referee under pressure, and was scathing of Barcelona following their actions in the Champions League last-16 clash with the Gunners. However, he has now extended his ire towards the world champions and also London rivals Chelsea. "They [Spain players] always go up to referees in an attempt to get an opponent booked. They are trying to screw colleagues! That kind of behaviour really annoys me," Van Persie told Sport 1. "People who are watching the game on television and fans really do not want to see these kind of things. If you want to witness a lot of complaints, you should just go the bakery or something. There's always people nagging there as well. "Chelsea players are always bitching against the referees. I really cannot understand that. Just shut the f*** up and focus on playing football http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/94296.html?CMP=OTC-RSS Discuss...
I had a discussion with somebody on the Arsenal board once about strikers, and it was loosley about the fact that Drogba has scored more goals on his own than the whole of the Arsenal front line put together over the last number of seasons. therefore, quite frankly RVP can take a hike as his value on the pitch de-values his opinion. ...and as for what he says we were top of the fair play league this year and our dissent has been toned down considerably. Wenger winges more to the officials than anyone, so maybe he should look closer to home.
poor old arsenal player whinging about the fact that they havent won a trophy in nearly 7 years! we topped the fair play league and wenger always has something to argue about so van persie can jog on with his envious comments
This would be the team who never stop crying about how all the big boys keep roughing them up? Arsenal never stop banging on about unfair treatment in an attempt to influence refs. They also love a good dive and are not immune to waving the odd imaginary card at the ref. The worst offender being their gimp of a captain Fabregas. Now there is someone who needs a slap. As for Van Rapist, I don't think he is in any position to hold the moral high ground over anyone.
Totally agree with the sentiments of the boys above. Wenger is the biggest moaner in the league about referees and decisions that he thinks that Arsenal should have had. Fabregas has been known to wave cards about in an attempt to get other players sent off and Wiltshere doesn't seem to mind a square-up on the pitch either. Van Persie himself is in no position to try to hold the moral high ground either. When he was sent off in the Nou Camp he was on camera moaning about the decision, so the words pot, kettle and black spring to mind. Lets face it Van Persie's comments are the sound of sour grapes from the losers enclosure!! Barcelona, Man United and Chelsea all in recent years are carving up the trophies and Arsenal don't. Jealousy is an illness after all.
This is ridiculous, Arsenal are one of the worst teams for harassing refs, although we do have a bad reputation. At least Drogba always seems to do it in jest but Fabregas and Wilshere are disgraceful!
This would be quite funny any other time, but as it came a day after Wilshire said this "we’ve got some players that can do that but we have to go as a team. It’s no use just Robin van Persie going because it looks like it’s just him having a go at the ref. If we all get round him... you just see the other teams do it and you think, 'We need to do it as well'." Its actually bloody hilarious.
Genius!! To be fair, RVP has since stated he never made them comments. Which must be true as surely no-one can be stupid enought to say such things when playing for one of the worst offenders in the league. Wenger, Fabregas, Wilshire, Van Persie etc
