Cor blimey certainly seems to have gone all quiet on the transfer front.

Are we,are we not,it certainly seems to have gone of the boil regards speculation.

Surely something is going to happen before we kick a ball in anger.

You wait out of now where a signing will arrive.<somersault>

I think there are still some players he needs to shift and some more players he would like to have.

If you go on the players on Wiki we still have 28 players (if you include Cisse and Wilson), which the managers target is around 23-25 players.

Still no word on what will happen with Damion Stewart who is still at the club but has yet to feature in any of the friendlies and with city looking for a right footed centre defender that would indicate he does not have a future. I guess the embarrassing part for him is he played in the Bristol City u21 team on the weekend and lost to Hereford. Good to see Marlon Jackson showing why we probably shouldnt have got rid of him.

The way to look at it is every player we have been linked to has not signed. All the players that he been bought have come when there has been no previous rumours so there is a good chance there is currently some meetings going on as we speach about players. From what the manager has said he still wants a centre defender and a striker.

Currently we have Fontaine, Nyatanga, J Wilson, Carey and Stewart as first squad players so I dont think the board would see another defender as a priority until others leave even though all of them have been injured at one point last season.

As for strikers think a lot depends on formations. We currently have Stead, Pitman and Taylor.
In scotland they seemed to play 4-4-2 and were successful. Against Southampton they went 4-5-1 and struggled to create chances in the first half. the only reason I have stated on another post that they created more in the second half is Anderson (looks very impressive in person) and Woolford when they came on played more narrow and Woolford should have had a brace of goals from his chances. I would prefer to play 4-4-2 but if we went with 3 I'd use Woolford and Anderson with Stead especially if Albert was to go.

We still have another few weeks to go so it is a case of watch this space.
