Shrewsbury v Kilmarnock

I didn't go as had a lovely day out in south Shrops.

Did any one go and what was it like?

 

Should have won. Completely outplayed Killie in the first half. Collins hit the post. Akpa Akpro injured soon into the game and replaced by Mangan wide left. He looked promising. Woods and Wesolowski centre midfield and dominant. Many replacements from HT onwards so lacked fluency in the second half.

 

a jolly good result for town, holding a scottish premier club to 0-0. thought more would have gone. not sure what away games at kiddie and altrincham will prove. team bonding will be one thing.

very impressed with town's start in psf's. should stand us in good stead in league 2. beginning with a 3-1 away win at wombles, as predicted last month.

money received for taylor will go a long way to paying wages. rumoured to be twixt 250k-450k

 

I hope that range of figures for Taylor is accurate as our players always seem to be undervalued in these situations.

 

Taylor was always going to be over-valued whatever the price tag.

 

At least we sold him at a decent time as we did not do it with tolley, Rodgers etc

 

To counteract that, we got a ridiculous amount for Mason Springthorpe who is now on trial at Wrexham, I think. Swings and roundabouts. Tolley was never worth diddly squat. Rodgers was a gamble worth taking. Looked as though he might score thousands in the Conference but.......
