drew 4-4 at home to preston, in front of 2000 . will tom make it 3 in 3 weeks next week. could we have a gate of 6k?
The away end has already been sold out. I am looking forward to a goal fest - well done Atcham for your continuing belief in Bradshaw and lets hope he can bang a few more goals in this year (especially if he gets some help from an experienced strike partner).
I have always thought tb had some promise up front. he came to us as a welsh international, and it may not be too long before he is picked again. as you know I cannot get up to salop very often but I have plans for the Gillingham game as I am in south Shropshire for 48 hours that weekend.
Let's go for my favourite score..... STFC 2-1 CCFC Attendees: 6789 Bradshaw and Reach (the Solksjaer and Sherringham of Division1!)
I go for an entertaining 2-2 draw with Parry and Reach scoring for us - I reckon the crowd could he around 7000.
Curtis Maine, striker, signs for at least a month and Tamika Mkandiwire is possibly a starter. What that means with regards to Goldson, Woods, Bradshaw, Taylor and Parry is anyones guess. Perhaps start with the squad from last week and if we're getting in troubke then switch things. Cov look a threat at the front but gave conceeded quite badly too.
town face homeless 130 year old Coventry city tomorrow. they have sold their full allocation of tickets and in spite of the loss of their fanbase, Coventry will be out for a win tomorrow. results. creepies 3 cov 2 cov 5 britol city 4 Carlisle 0 cov 4 cov 4 preston 4 the first point is covy are prolific scorers and they ship a load of goals. already after 4 games 3 strikers Wilson 5, Clarke 4, Daniels 3 have totalled 12 out of 15 goals scored. league. p4 w2 d1 L1 f15 a11 gd 4 -3 points. (7 points) in spite of the politics surrounding Coventry city I believe it may be a high scoring game. I believe the gate could be as high as 7800 and a final score of 3-2 to Coventry would not surprise me. bradshaw & burke. floreat salopia! as an afterthought why do covy not ground share at the meadow next season? /////// brick bat deflector
Coventry scoring freely yet defence leaking goals. Who knows who will get the points! Town 2 v 2 Coventry Taylor, Maine Att 6002
thanks matt for the merger. they were discussing covy on 5 live last night, and by moving to n/Hampton, have lost 80% of their fanbase. how can they last the season.?
Coventry city a once proud club, bombed by the germans and blown apart by their numpty directors.. this great club deserves better! welcome to the meadow.
I do hope graham starts with an un changed side. they deserve that. but if it goes mammaries up , then make changes.
If they only have 20% of turnover then they will have a severely reduced wage budget next season for sure based on the 60% of turnover ruling, unless their accountants (most likely) sort monies in.
Will we be able to keep him for another 48 hours? I wonder if there were scouts watching today? Was it good goal?
The goal by Coventry was a mess, the forwards had charged through to attack a couple of times and then number 20 broke past Jacobson and Mkandawire whilst Weale ran forward thinking he could get the corner of his goal area to grab the ball only for their player to twist and kick a rolling ball into our net. Weale was at fault for running out but both defenders caught off guard initially. That was at 3 mins 55 seconds! Coventry defended from the front and the ball never seemed to get beyond the halfway line too many times. Their forwards chased everything and every half chance they had, they attacked. Our four defenders seemed to play a passing game with Weale, tactic or not it gave their players a runaround and wore them down but it didn't half frustrate a few of our fans that no significant progress was made to go forward. Second half and Reach was substituted before the start, which moved Taylor over to the left wing. This brought the new lad Main on as an attacker. A wise move by GT as it gave Jacobson defensive cover, as Reach was not doing a great job but it also meant that after two minutes 47 seconds we had equalised! Main had intercepted and got hold of the ball and ran down the right wing and put a low cross into Bradshaw who was by himself in the centre surrounded by a range of players, Bradshaw then powered in a shot past their keeper. Town dominated for a good twenty minute period and could have got well ahead, but somehow the game ended as 1-1. Most players had a good game positive shouts go out to Parry for working his socks off all match both attack and defense; Wildig got better throughout the match and did some great passing; Bradshaw is looking better each game; Taylor will be hard to keep hold of; Summerfield doesn't always control the initial ball well but did a lot of very good work; Jacobson did a great job after getting Taylor in front of him; Woods, wow what a player we have in the making; Jones did a good job at the back (although mixed comments on the radio); Mkandawire looked off the pace and due to a new baby might be a tad tired!! Good game and pleasing result. If you can find good odds and have some cash then place a bet on Cov getting promoted!
Yes, a really enjoyable game with Coventry doing some tremendous attacking play, especially in the first half. I thought Wilson and Christie look real prospects for them though the former's speed and ability was not matched by his disgraceful taunting of us fans in the West stand after his goal (completely unprovoked)- best to leave that sort of thing to Lee Hughes. Main changed the game for us - his energy and ability to hold the ball and provide a threat in the air put Coventry on the back foot and what a cross which was met with a very confident finish from Bradshaw. Please GT partner Main and Bradshaw up front while Main is still with us and put Taylor back on the wing where he belongs. All in all we should be very pleased with a point after being played off the pitch in the first half - Weale was at his best making save after save and I would not blame him for the goal as Tam was being done for pace by Wilson all game.
