So, this week we welcome Bradford, a team who witnessed one of our worst performances this season. They look like they have enough about them and sufficient points to stay up, but they won't be taking anything for granted, and will come here, play for a point and be rugged and physical. I have a burning headache so cannot be bothered to write any more. Bradford: Recent League Form: LLLWDL Top Scorers: I DON'T CARE. I wonder if Ainsworth will play any part assuming he returns from Burton though Wildig played well at Macclesfield. Three massive games on the trot at home - everyone will be a battle but, if we can hold our home form, we can stop teams from scoring against us and Collins is starting to look the real deal up front (no, Swindon you cannot buy him!). It is in our own hands now and we have a great chance of automatic promotion.
bantams last 10 results 3 wins 2 draws 5 losses culminating in a 2-0 win over sarfend. note bantams gd is only -5 and they languish in 19th place. bantams need points for safety aj prediction shrews 4 bantams 0 att 6009 collins wroe wright richards and the boat race is still still stopped halfway at chiswick eyot, because of a swimmer. floreat salopia
could do with oxford beating gulls on monday, oh my god the oxford boat bow has collapsed, hope he is ok
Any of the remaining games could be tricky but we are good enough to beat Bradford - I predict 2-0 to the Shrews with a crowd close to 7000 and Wright and Gornell scoring. Oxford have been very good against the top sides and I cannnot see Torquay winning there. Barnet are not very good but lets hope that Macleod relocates his shooting boots and they can stop Crawley winning. Yes, we need to win our own game first but it would be great to see some daylight between us and Crawley in the race for automatic promotion.
Thanks Matster! Ive had a break from posting as it was getting a bit obsessive and taking lots of time up but have kept a close eye on you all!! I have decided to jump back on the bandwagon for the promotion chase, its getting very nervey and exciting takes me back to 1979!!!
Shrewsbury 3 v 1 Bradford Collins Wright Sheriff Att 6200 Two red cards and five yellows caused by a physical away team and frustrated home team.
well played shrews onwards and upwards. lucky crawley, lucky swindon and lucky lucky gulls. well played argyle
Well done to the town, another battling game. Got a tad tense in the second half, but the ref was on our side!!
Yes, it was never pretty and Bradford (a big, ugly side if ever I saw one) had most of the possession in the second half though clear cut opportunities were few and far between. It would have been a different game if Wildig had not missed an absolute sitter in the first half - that second goal always makes it much more relaxed. The Bradford manager noticed the damage Grandison was doing going forward and brought on a good winger to keep him more occupied defensively. Wildig does not offer enough going forward at home for me and I would like to see Taylor back for the next two home games. It was a bit tense at the end but any win at this stage is a massive result for us. Crawley kept up the pressure but Torquay not winning is a bonus and we must now be favourites for second place.
It is frightening to think that we could end up with 90 points and still not win automatic promotion. Must do better than today. Wildig was not the only missed chance culprit today. Second half, Collins should have set up Gornell for a tap in but was too selfish.
Wildig did do some good stuff yesterday, yes he did miss a sitter but he wasn't the only one in the first half. Richards' second free kick was a great effort and challenged the keeper. I notice Ainsworth wasnt on the bench for the match too.
it is becoming clear to me in deepest devon that rowland needs to unlock his wallet and provide sufficient cash for at least 2 new strikers for next season, we could not survive elsewhere without them
