i hope i am not treading on lenny's toes but thought we ought to have a thread. tub of lard now manages millers and prior to this they are on a roll, winning last 4 games. w h chelt 1-0, w a wombles 2-1, w h 1-0 bulls, w h 4-2 maccs, La 1-2 oxon

i have no idea what tub of lard is expecting, but you can be sure 11 millers will be doing more than enough to impress. shrews need to be on their metal to protect their unbeaten run at home. i believe they may be sorely tested.

att 6675 shrews 2 millers 2 wroe wright.

sorry lenny if i have stolen your thunder

He will have pleased all of the Millers players by boasting at the size of his cheque book that he can buy players from inthe summer!

Cheers AJ for starting a thread btw.

Every match gets increasingly more important at this stage - I liked Wright's comment about every match being treated like a Cup final. Rotherham gave us a tough game in the cup and it is difficult to know how the recent changes
have affected them (the way the caretaker manager was summarily dismissed after taking them to four wins in five games was pretty poor). However, the fact that they really need a win to make up ground in the race for the play-offs should be to our advantage as they will have to come out and attack us and we can do what we do best and hit them on the break. I predict a hard-fought 2-1 win for Town in front of 6500 with Taylor coming back and laying on both goals for Collins.

Hope we can keep the home record rolling and the Evans factor doesn't start to kick in too soon. Hoping for a town win of course . Town 2 _1 millers (Gornell & Wright) 6,038 in attendance.

millers chairman tony stewart is ambitious, he says he will not be happy until the millers are in the premiership! oh happiness where is thy sting. is he expecting tub of lard to get them there, if so those worn out legs of a knackeded squad at the *** end of an indifferent season are really going to be up for it, er not. now come on shrews fresh from a canter up and down cader idris and a run along fairbourne sands, we have a dream as well, a dream and an intention to clamber up into league 1 and stay their.

of course uncle rowland was pissy, he was knackered halfway up cader, the wind kept blowing his lighter out and he lost his lockable wallet on the way down, although he retains the combinations to the lock. any way help was at hand when a youthful and fit but blowing graham turner heard the satellite beeping from the wallet and it was returned to a knacked but grateful chairman. a swig of vintage port brought the colour back to his cheeks. floreat salopia every one bring on those dancing sagging millers.

A great attacking 20 minutes or so after a dire first forty minutes - excellent link-up play betwen the front two. As soon as we stopped humping the ball up in the air and started to pass it on the floor we were in business. It was never that comfortable (Rotherham were going gung ho and had 21 shots at our goal) but our class told in the end. Bring on the Vale - surely two more wins will see us over the finishing line. It would be great to do it at home against Dagenham in the last home game - perhaps we could even sell out the home stands.

Painfull, then good to watch. They tried like many others to do a pressing game and it worked, but fitness on our side cane through. How many ended up chanting You Fat Bastard at Steve Evans, who knows but it was funny. Even had kids in the family stand run down and goad him.

The best chant was "You're getting sacked in the morning"

Gornell's quality shone through. Two excellent strikes from the edge of the area showed Rotherham how to shoot. They were often high, wide and not so handsome. I can recall Neal only having to make one save in the second half. I often wonder if a shot that eventually ends up as a throw-in counts as a shot off target or does the perpetrator say it was meant as a cross. Block 1 were more in danger in the second half than the Rotherham support behind the goal.

The actions of the family stand has got to be one of the funniest and unexpected things I have seen at the Meadow. Don't normally like personal chants but Mr Evans doesn't do anything to help himself , God help Rotherham. His assistant is propbably as bad if not worse than him. Thank God we have a dignified Gent in Graham Turner. At one point during the row between The assistant manager and John Trewick, John 'fitness coach' Ford had to step in to calm things down. !!

Thanks for doing the thread AJ - I'm back now after being cheered up by two Town wins in a pretty miserable week - although I did actually hand in my notice! The final sentence in my Bradford thread must've been too subtle.
