I see there are a number of articles stating that Nile Ranger has really turned himself around and is determined to improve. It's obvious that he's telling the truth, because Pardew would be able to see right through it if he was just saying it.

We've always known he had talent. He played a handful of games in the 10/11 season, and in a number of those games he came on a sub and ****ing terrified the very best of defences.

He has immense pace and is very strong indeed. When he's running at defences, especially when they are tired and he comes on as a sub, they are terrified of him. He's also got decent ability on the ball, and the only thing he really lacked was confidence in front of goal.

He almost scored a goal himself in the 4-4 vs Arsenal and was instrumental in our comeback. He's also a decent candidate for a target man. I remember us playing a long ball up to him, he chested it down, and Nolan almost scored a 5th goal for us in that goal. I also remember in the same season our last minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Stamford bridge, we aimed the ball at him, he headed it back across goal and Saylor headed home the goal.

See the goal at 0:15. He gets the ball, holds off the defenders, and instinctively knows where the bottom corner is.

There's no doubting the talent, it was all on his attitude. I remember Pardew saying he'd get no where near the first XI unless he started adhereing to the club rules and turned up for traning, on time, for 2/3 months straight.

Ranger has obviously been helped by our player availability but he also must have proved to himself and Pardew that he's worthy of his place in the squad.

He's had a lot of chances but he's only young and given the correct man management Ranger could become a top player. I'm just bracing myself for him getting into the first team and then reverting back to being a big ego, knobhead!!

the kid doesn't give a ****. He's had loads of chances and blew them all.
he may be a good boy for a bit.... until the next episodes.
If it weren't for the injuries he's be nowhere near our squad.
So moving forward I think we need to plan for life without him (if someone is daft enough to take hime on).

I find it disgusting that after everything he is having yet another 'last chance'. He should be nowhere near the first team.

From what I gather he genuinely seems to have grown up a little bit, I would stress the LITTLE though as the jury is still out for sure.

Fair play to Pardew though, he's stuck to his word - he told Ranger if he could knuckle down and follow the club rules he would be back in consideration for the first team, and he has done that, so fair enough.

He was one of the few players to come out of the Bordeaux match with any credit for me, don't think he's quite up to Prem League standard just yet though.

Hopefully it will work out but I am yet to be convinced. Like ACS I find myself waiting for him to slip up and lose his way again. We have to accept it though and back him once in black and white. I just hope this is his last chance because otherwise we'll be making a rod for our own back. Look at Ravel Morrison. Talented lad but SAF's view was the greater good of the club. You have to think about the next set of youngsters to come through, and the one after that and so on. Its about having the right discipline and structure in your club.

I would have had him out on his ear personally.

Does no one remember how horribly **** he was for us in his last PL start for us, Villa away 10/11. He wasn't even league 1 standard, and he can't ****ing score. His goals to games ratio makes Shola look like Gerd Muller and Lionel Messi's lovechild.

Let's face it Rangers behaviour has been shoddy to say the least, it p's me off no end that he's quite happy to throw away chance after chance, the club have not sold or sacked him, why I don't know.
If we need him then we should play him, I'll support him when he's on the pitch, then go back to reminding myself what an ungrateful **** he is, why cut off your nose to spite your face.

He was great against us when he came on in Pardew's first game. We were not very good under Hodgson but he still made an impact setting up the winner & causing havoc with his strength and pace.

Surprised he never kicked on from that performance.

Most players usually settle down though after a period of rebellion and being told off. He just seems to ignored the advice he's been given thusfar and continuted undermining his own career by acting a tit. I was just surprised that he hadn't knuckled down after that performance and thought to himself that he's got a chance of being a really good premier league player if he puts his mind to it.

    £105m you say? Deal!

No he was not a world beater but he did give us a lot of impetus and focal point in the attack on a few occasions. Holds the ball really well. How old was he at the time? 19? Very silly to judge a player at that age to be honest. Particularly tall ones who take a bit longer to come to hand in general. Obviously a cock end at the time though
