Hi guys, like all of you I'm getting a bit nervous about the possibility of Tiote leaving in January, so I thought about all the other key players we have sold, most notably Carroll. We have actually benefited from the sale of AC do you think the same could be achieved by selling Cheick?

In the summer, I would demand in excess of 25m for him as he is Prem proven and still has his best years ahead of him, however, I would up the price in January and demand the same fee that L'pool paid for AC.

As for potential replacements, I would suggest Sandro of Tottenham.

So guys, would you sell Tiote? How much for? and who would you replace him with?

I dont want to sell for less than 30 million, if he does get sold, bring in a player of similar ability to Guthrie (relatively cheap) and keep Guthrie in the first team.

No. Not just because he is a brilliant player, but because of the implications of selling - eg. the message that flogging one of our best players would give out to fans and to other clubs.

You'd sell him and replace him with an inferior player? Guthries been doing alright covering, but frankly thats not how you run a football club, and I don't think even Fat Mikes that daft.

tiote would be hard to replace without spending basically most of the money we'd get from tiote, to get the same kind of skill level, not only that, tiote seems like an exceptionally driven player, vast desire, he has some irreplaceable qualities.

No player is bigger than the club. I'd only sell if it were an absolutely exorbitant amount of money like 30 odd million or something, then I trust Carr to find us someone else of similar quality on the cheap.

Having said this I don't want him sold and as Skalpel says it will send out a bit of a negative message as to what we're about. Also I completely don't trust Ashley to actually reinvest the money for obvious reasons, and I don't trust them to have a replacement ready. Not to mention that I'd hate to see him in another team's colours, especially someone like the bin dippers :(

Actually **** no forget my first paragraph I don't want to sell full stop.

Problem is. The money we make on him will be used to pay off Mike Ashley loans and new Sports Direct signs to be put up at the training ground.

    No Deal.

Why would we sell for 30m?

It's not like we'd do anything with it.

Look at the Carroll money , probably still sealed in a leather suitcase under the fat man's pillow.

Guthrie's done a great job, deserves a chance if Tiote gets sold.

He has, but would you even vaguely question whether he's better than Tiote? Loyalty to players is one thing, but buying poorer than you already have is absolute madness, surely you can see that? Its like suggesting that when Jose went we should've bought someone about as good as Ryan Taylor.

Don't worry guys, don't think we will buy him even though we have lost Lucas for the rest of the season. Don't think a DM would be such a priority on anyones shopping list in January to be honest. Doubt Moderic would leave Spurs in Jan now, if he did then I think that would be the only outside chance of someone swooping in for him.

  19. They say every player has a price, but we can't afford to lose Tiote. Even though Guthrie has done a fantastic job, neither he or Cabaye possess a fifth of the defensive ability Tiote possesses.

There's been times in recent matches, where we have really missed Tiote, the way he bullies center mids, produces immense standing tackles to dispossess them, and breaks up an oppositions advancement.

There's no one we could get to replace Tiote without spending probably more than what we'd get for him.

  20. It's not really you that are going in for him those, it's Chelsea.
