According to our much admired and Norwich based local rag, Paul Jewell is the bookies favourite for being the first Championship manager to get the bullet next season! Stan James have got him at 4/1 to be fired and they have Town at 25/1 to get promoted as champions and 15/2 to secure the play-offs! Out of all those what would you put your money on?

Other contenders for an early bath are Darren Ferguson, Nigel Pearson and at 25/1 Gianfranco Zola at Watford is worth a cheeky bet!

Personally I dont think it will be Jewell. I think the board has moved away from the instant promotion rubbish and will be quite happy if we are in the top half. The first manager to get sacked will be a club with expectations above their resources.
The likes of Hull, Cardiff, Leeds and Leicester will need to do well from the start I think.

Certainly don't think it will be Jewell. Steve Kean anyone?

If you look at the other managers they've put with good odds of leaving, I thought I was looking at the managers that were most secure in their jobs!!:

I mean Darren Ferguson and Eddie Howe, unless they know something we don't I think they've got this majorly wrong.

Unless we have a disasterous season I can't see Jewell leaving!!

fergie is safe as houses. Got to admit I have no clue what the Burnley board's ambitions are so I can't comment on Howe, but again doesn't seem likely..

I have a gut feeling that Stale Solbakken getting fired early on, with Wolves really struggling at the beginning of the season. As said, PJ won't get the sack if we finish in the top half of the table.

Lay the HELL into Jewell on whatever betting site you can!

If he's 4-1 and on betfair that's a market etc, seriously lay it and be the bookie. I'll happily cash in on £50 with a liability of £250, we simply do not sack managers! Look at Keane, worst start ever still had a job. Some other club will crack before us. Personally, if I was gonna have a flutter I'd go for the Sheffield Wednesday manager. Manderic isn't quick in pressing the fire button

PS - 25-1 !? Pah. Pathetic price! We're available at 40-1 with Bet365, and Bodog are the ONLY bookie to pay each way on top 4 not top 3... and we're 33-1 with them. 40-1 seems massive. If we click.....!!?!
