Since we heard that Rangers were not going to offer Taarabt an improved contract we are hearing nothing else but stories every day about big clubs interested in him.
Would it be a good idea to offer an improved contract of say £30,000 a week for 4 years and put a ridiculous price tag on his head, say £50 million.
After all Torres is worth £50 million and what has he done .
Or should we keep him on the contract he is on and try to ignore the stories every day.
His valuation at the minute of about £8 million is peanuts to these other clubs and that's why these stories wont go away.
    What does everyone else think?

Would he actual sign a new contract? He said (so we believe) that he will stay while Warnock is manager - which is probably as long as his current contract. I would offer a new contract, but it may backfire and result in him going. Maybe it should be left until next December, and hope we are going well.

Don't think he'd sign it, he's got his ambitions and you can't blame him for that.

I'd wait until the end of the season....

We should be in the Prem, so he can get a bloody good wage hike, and with NW still being there, it would all be rosy!

NW would get him to sign it by saying that without HIM, Tarbs would still be in the reserves at Spuds. Everyone is happy, and we insert a £20mill clause!

He has a lot of respect for NW though. So that has to hold some bearing on the outcome

Big difference being that Torres is well established at the highest level for club & country, albeit currently going through a bit of a bad patch. He will come good again without fail.

Cant imagine he would sign any deal, the hype going around him now is crazy. (although old quotes from his spurs day are being re-used) A club like ours will struggle to keep up with his ambition. As far as im concered there's no point having a player who doesnt want to play. I hope to god he stay's even if its only till jan. But if he does go...being the age he is at I dont think it would be crazy to ask for at least 7 mill plus a decent sell on clause.....

Still onwards and upwards super hoops...
