First half we were incredibly poor yesteerday, but in the second half we looked like a different team, and certainly had Preston on the ropes by the end of the game. However, David Cotterill's "offside" goal could have changed everything. We would have gone in at HT at 1-1, and that would have given us 45mins in which to score the winning goal(s). So, were we robbed by (yet another) dodgy decision, or was a draw a fair result?
In the second half I could feel that second goal coming................ and then I could feel it just slipping away. Apart from the David Cotterill goal which wasn't then a draw was a fair result. I didn't notice Jamie Ashdown in the second half - perhaps he was on a deckchair sunning himself 'cos he didn't seem to have much to do.
Off topic a bit, but I seem to remember a cricket test match (may have been 1982ish) when some-one tried to run onto the pitch with a deck chair for Chris Tavare when he was 0 or 1 not out after an hour at the crease.
Hi Jake. Looking at the stats a draw seemed fair. Dev. I don't remember that one! Maybe a slumberland bed would have been appropriate! Was it Ray East, that once used a bike to travel fine leg to fine leg (when a right and leftie were batting) once? He was a real loon, right up my street. The Umpire gave him out LBW in a match once, which led to an instant tea interval. He came back out again to the middle after tea, and the ump said "What are you doing, I gave you out?" to which Eastie replied "I thought you must have been joking it was surely never out!"
So, Phil Brown reckons that Preston should have won the game!? Is there no end to this man's lunacy (see half time team talk vs Man City for more details ).
