It's on SSN that Leroy Fer is now fully fit and ready for selection.
I was gutted when this deal fell through, he'd have been immense for us. It would have been a gamble if we took him on, if only we knew we were gona struggle this bad!
We couldn't have been much worse off if we'd waited for him to get fit.

The same could be said with Lombaerts aswell if it was true about his failed medical .

We were certainly patient with Borini! Fer could have been a good buy, but.....................

I think Toivonen was his replacement. I'd be suprised if we went back in for him in Jan.

Fer may also have been **** for us. After all we could buy Messi and Ronaldo and turn them into Altidore and Danny ****ing Graham.

If Fer is now fit then he hasn't had any game time and will lack match fitness, I think we have enough of those in the squad at the moment, you can't buy unfit players in the hope they will eventually recover, what if they don't recover then we would look stupid. A pity all round as I rate the lad.

No point buying a player who fails their medical unless it is on a reduced fee/pay to play deal. Now he's fully fit then go back for him in January. But we may not have got M'Vila had we got him?

He'd still be a good signing. Better than Catts, Gomez, Rodwell, Larsson.

I feel that we will turn the corner if we are patient. We look much more potent and adventurous in midfield and attack, but just need to get ourselves sorted in defence.

Under Gus and Martin O'Neill we kept it tight at the back (mostly) and tried to hit teams on the counter, it was awful to watch and now DA is trying to make us more offensive which in turn is leaving us exposed at the back, it's a catch twentytwo situation which Sick is paid a lot of money to find the answer.
Personally I would sit Carts in front of whoever is playing central defence, I know he's had a poor start to the season, but limit him to winning the ball and pass it to our more, creative midfield. Tell the fullback not to go over the halfway line and try and get a few games where we don't concede in the first ten minutes which when we do has us chasing the game which leaves us more exposed to being hit on the break like last night.

Dick then has to sort out who his other five are going to play midfield and upfront. We need to give ourselves time to grow into games instead of chasing them. How Dick does it I don't know but he gets paid a lot of money to find the answer, I'm convinced he will see out the season and will keep us up.

I've no time for what if's and maybe's.

Currently with my third missus <laugh> I'd be ****ing suicidal if I worked out just how much better off I would be if I was still with the first one! Not that that would be a good idea anyway.

So I just have to keep looking forward now. Same with the footy!

Quite a few of our fans held the opinion that Leroy Fer only played when he wanted to. I don't mean go on to the pitch when he wanted, but actually make a serious effort when he wanted. If he wasn't up for it, for whatever reason, he would be anonymous and that happened quite a lot for Norwich.

He's a decent player for sure but you just never know which Fer is going to put on the kit on any given day.

Thing is, if we signed him without him passing a fitness test and he wouldn't have within the window, His injury can't be insured. So if it went on to be a career effecting injury we'd lose everything. Not a matter of being patient, it was a matter of taking a risk. We choose not to like 90% wouldn't.

Wasn't it just a loan deal?

So at worst you'd lose maybe £3m for the season when it's fairly unlikely that the worst case scenario would have happened.

People might point to the Alvarez mess but I'm pretty sure a semi competent lawyer could ensure that there was no obligation to make the signing come the end of the loan.

Damn shame we don't have a semi competent lawyer running the club.

It was but we still wouldn't get insured and had a fee to pay for it.
