Some of that is way over the top imagine getting thrown out of a ground for shouting something like the girls team play better than you! 'Playing like a girl' is not an insult to some players it sums up their playing ability, When someone is rolling around on the floor freigning injury whats wrong with telling him to stop acting like a baby or Woman or Girl? Some of it I agree with but loads of it is just OTT.
I think we should all be adult enough to respect each other and know how to deal with fascists and blatant thick idiots, we have enough officials telling us how to live our live already..
I don't think we need a list because we all know what's acceptable and what's not - we should report any idiot to the stewards to be dealt with. Also what if an offensive word/phrase is not on the list???
Well I don't think we need to. Only once have I heard a racist comment at AG and it was when we played West ham and Nicky Maynard made his return. Of course he was getting abuse but a chap at the back decided to go a step to far and got a telling off from nearly every fan around him. I've dimmed that down as much as I could. Other than that we are a friendly club who has won numerous awards for it. Plus all our players seem very friendly and they all get on with each other. We've a good group of lads and this is one thing I hope we wouldn't have to worry about.
I have to agree and am thankful we have moved on from the 60's and 70's when it was normal to insult players for the colour of their skins I didn't like it then and didn't put up with it I wouldn't put up with it now but there are things on that list that are just plain stupid, because the list of words means nothing the context is everything. Things like 'you're playing like a Fairy' could just be saying get stuck in 'it's a mans game'(Is that to be banned as well?) don't keep jumping out of tackles as well as saying some one was homosexual. I also object to the assumption that if someone uses the word Gay they are refering to Homosexuality in some fashion same with *** I still know older people who will still say 'I'm just going out for a ***' or 'he/she looks really Gay tonight' refering to them being very happy which was the meaning of the word before it was hijacked. Larry Grayson has a lot to answer for.
This politically correct nonsense has gone beyond a joke and although I do not agree with some of the language used by people at games it is a fact of life. Why don't the authorities and the clubs fix something that is important such as the gross salaries paid to uncommitted players and the fees doffed out to greedy agents who only have their interests at heart. Rant over for now!
Aside from the stereotypical "it's PC gone mad!" comments, I think it's not a bad idea to have one in place. I couldn't give the slightest **** about it, because it won't affect me. However, anything that stops idiots being idiots is fine for me. It's easy to say that idiots will be thrown out, but I've heard tons of stupid comments at football grounds.
This is the sort of **** you expevt from some inefficient public sector department, not a private business. It's a desperate attempt and clawing back some positive publicity, but with this and the ridiculous comment from the kick it out campaign, I fear football is becoming a political football for all the wrong reasons.
So saying "for **** sake you Aussie pussy ****ing man up you gay prick" is not acceptable? I better stop going then
Could get you a life time ban and as for saying you want to nip out the back for a *** well prison at least if not hung drawn and quartered.
If people need a list to know what words they can't use then they will be too moronic to read it anyway. Having a list like that is counter productive as officious stewards could boss people about and throw them out of matches because they think they hear one of those words used and even if one of them is used you have to take it in context, otherwise imagine a group of fans talking about the list and all getting banned because forbidden words were used as they tried to remember all the words on the list.
No .... hate watching women's football ..... where;s the kitchen again ? LOL .... yea I've never seen a man miss a penalty yet
Bloody ridiculous and one of the last teams I would have expected this from. Another nail in the coffin of the game in general Why not also make it a non contact sport while we're here ?
