Should we expect Sissoko to play every game?

When looking at match day threads around the internet, I see almost every Newcastle fan putting Sissoko in their teams for both the Anzi and Stoke games.

I know there are others that are also playing every game, but I think we can all agree that Sissoko's job is probably the most physically difficult out of anyone's.

He never gets subbed off and is forced to play 90 minutes every game, he runs up and down the pitch all game, he's expect to harass the opposition for possession, create chances and also provide a goal threat. He seems to be all over the pitch every game, down the center, on the wings, back in defence, sometimes the highest player up the pitch.

When is he entitled to have a match off? I hope we realise that he's probably our biggest threat right now, and he's playing well. We should be careful not to push him too far. I know he's a beast and in fantastic condition, but he's not invincible. I hope we don't over work him.

    It's a fair point Tash. <ok>

Although we don't have too many extra games as we're notin the other cups, so Europa shouldn't be too big an ask. Maybe rest him for the long away journey then bring him back in fir the home leg? But we do need him in the league games.

When he says he's tired, we rest him.

He looked tired towards the end of the Swansea game to me.

    This.

When we have two games a week, play him for 60 minutes and 90 minutes, in whichever order we think best. This week I'd give him the full 90 against Anzhi (unless we find ourselves 2 goals up or something) and play him 60 minutes against Stoke.

I think we'll need him full 90 v Stoke due to the way they play. We will benefit from his physical presence, energy and drive. If anything, I'd rest him for the away leg of the Europa and save him the journey, so he's fresh for battle v Stoke. <ok>

Play him when he's fit. Surely Pards has enough common sense not to burn him out.

I think he's the kind of guy that would want to play no matter what.

This!!! (seem to be agreeing with pretty much everything you say atm OBI, have some rep)

Rest him away vs Anzi. Personally I'd play Jonas and Anita on the wings in a 4-4-1-1 with Marveux just off the striker.

Also, a thought that has crossed my mind, should we push Santon into LM position infront of Haidara vs Anzi? he seems incapable of defending recently but would provide good cover for the young lad in defence a bit like jonas does for him atm.

Well considering some of the things that have/haven't been done so far there is a question about it.

Guess it depends whether you'd rather win the Anzhi match or the Stoke game, and which you think will be tougher.

For me the answer is Anzhi and Anzhi

I get tired but still have to go to work and produce the goods and get a lot less than Sissoko for it. Having said that its not an unfair point but at the moment we need league points AND want to win a trophy so for me he is in but sub him if neccessary.

Should we expect him to play every game? NO!

Never expect, because then the magic will wear off <wizard>

Nice position to be in where you have such a wealth of talent you can afford to rest your best players Sunderland are certainly not in that position
