Yeah let's chill, after all we're only 5 points off the title, 2 points off Europe, 5 places above Arsenal and in comfortable mid table in 12th.

Are you happy with the football Rafa is serving up Albert , or is he getting too easy a ride by blaming Ashley for everything ?

I think we should get behind Rafa and the lads ..................... but we should keep the pressure on Ashley. I couldn't give a **** what West Ham, Wolves or any ****er is doing or spending. Far too much focus on spend and not enough on all of the lies, deceit and bullshit that Ashley keeps pushing out.

Football fans blow most things out of proportion but there is certainly grounds for complaint with the backing (or lack thereof) that the manager has had this year. Newcastle fans always think the sky is just about to cave in. The protests never show the fans in the best light IMHO and they will make **** all difference to Ashley so I'm not sure what the point is. Simple choice for me, which has been the case for at least 8 years now, which is support the team or don't go if you think that means you are supporting Ashley. Just don't have a go at other fans for going to the football and getting behind the club they love if you have chosen to stay away.

Anyway, it's early days for this season. We've had one decent performance and one crappy one and we're probably on par with expectations points-wise tbh. New players to come in and hopefully improve the team but it will likely get worse in terms of the table before it gets better. I think we are in for a tougher season this year, though, and we will be properly fighting for survival to the end. 3 from Wolves, Cardiff, Huddersfield and us going down for me.

I'm Red and White but in the early 70's never missed Supermac to the Billy Ashcroft era, when we were in the old League 2 and you were In Div 1. I've never disliked Newcastle at all, they are my second team. Outside looking in, I think its the Keegan bandwagon jumpers heaping an unfair pressure on the club, supporters who didn't support Newcastle thru thick and thin. My Mag mates 56+ are embarrassed by these protests, just make NUFC look daft. I don't think Rafa turning the media on Ashley helps, does anyone remember Westwood as Chairman ? Be careful what you wish for . You'll get a surprise result in the next 3 games, 4 point out of 5 and tough fixtures out the way. I wish we were in your position.

You can understand fans' frustration tbh. They know that we could try harder to compete but the owner won't. Rafa is calculating in using the media, for sure, but he is only trying to get the best for club and I think it's hard to deny Ashley has given him and the fans a load of BS about him getting "every last penny" to spend on players - they have stripped £20m worth of value out of his squad at a time when we have the means to build for the future. Ashley is gambling that we will replicate last year's over-achievement in the league and we'll stay up no problem but I can't see it being that simple this season. Yes, it could be worse but it could also be better. A third relegation in 11 years would be a damning indictment on Ashley's stewardship. The younguns and some older fans tbf think they can influence the situation, though - they can't accept that things are outside their control. A bunch of Newcastle fans standing outside an SD shop on Northumberland Street will barely even register with Ashley, if at all.

Ah, a little bit of sense and perspective

Genuinely think either a lot of fans have either forgotten or simply weren't around during some of the truly **** times we endured in the 70s and 80s.

If you look at a few other clubs with some fairly major spends this summer, we're not doing too badly - yes, Cardiff was a bad day, but we came away with a point - not bad with half our first choice defence missing.

Spending big money on players does not guarantee success and I think this is what Ashley struggles with - in business pay an employee a six figure salary and you expect a certain level of performance day in day out - do the same in football and it's a crapshoot - unless you're at a Man City purchasing level.

Same with the Rafa situation - Ashley thinks, why bother giving this guy funds if he won't commit, if he goes we may be lumbered with expensive players the new manager doesn't want and we may struggle to shift.

I agree it's an arse about face way of thinking, but that's the way he rolls.....

Having said all that however, I'd still rather be us than West Ham or Huddersfield right now....

Look I’m worried. We have just played awful against cardiff. A team who I fully expect to be relegated. They have no quality. What they did have was effort, something which was severely lacking from out bunch of pansies.

Rafa has to take some blame for that performance. They may not be class players but they could work harder and try harder and that is down to the managers tactics.

But hey it’s ok. We have 3 piss easy games coming so we will be ok.

One final comment. Why are we playing 40 yard long balls against a team like Cardiff who are all 6 foot beasts? Did Rafa look at them and go..... lads they are **** in the air and Joselu will eat them for breakfast and ayoze your strong as a an ox.... so everyone play it in the air to the last man and our beastly strikers will chest control it and swivel and slam it into........ row ****ing z

I'm fully expecting us to be in the bottom 3 by the time we go to Palarse on the 22nd Sept having amassed 0 points from our next 3 league games. Anything other than that will be a very unexpected bonus in my opinion. We're at home for two of them which might help but not based on the **** show on Saturday. Maybe we just don't like kicking off at 12:30 or summit **** knows. I don't think it's possible to play any worse than that if I'm honest so it can only get better from here I guess.

I think we have enough to be ok this season and stay up but it will be a fight. We're screwed if we pick up a few injuries as we're very thin on the ground in terms of quality in depth. Manpillow and Hayden need to be kicked the **** out of the club with immediate effect, that was just ****ing embarrassing on Saturday.

But we still got a point.

    <cheers>

Play badly away from home and get a point. It's not all bad.

Not upset by the other clubs spending money or the 7 average-poor players we have bought, for me its about the lies!

    "Every penny generated".

We shouldn't be making £20m+ profit on sales or passing up on decent players for the sake of £2m, deliberately working so slowly it disrupts deals, not improving the squad/facilities. £144m debt "cleared" NO you lying FCB you cleared £76m because of your incompetence in checking the fine print when purchasing and then cost us another £68m in relegations through your own fault. Hiding the bank accounts for as long as possible and then skewing them to make it seem as though we are hemorrhaging money.

Proven liar in a court of law, proven to lie to the fans, manager etc. now he's using hims BS PR firm Keith Bishop Associates to try and seem like he's misrepresented and unfairly given a hard time when the reality is he is the villain - and not the pantomime type, there is nothing funny about his ownership.

100% still behind the team. We didn't play well against Cardiff, not by any stretch of the imagination - although IMO, we improved in the second half (despite being down to ten men).

But I also thought we played extremely well against Spurs, especially in the second half where we deserved to score (Diame post, Rondon crossbar and Kenedy miss).

We look a better team with Rondon and Muto in (rather than Joselu and Perez) and once the former are back fit, I think we'll pick points up.

    I have faith!

Read a fascinating insight into more of the FCB's lies about the club. He claims, official quotes and all that, he was interested on a Friday and the deal was done by Weds (I'm paraphrasing). What he doesn't explain is why MASH Holdings registered the name "NUFCDirect" with Companies House SIX MONTHS before he allegedly started talking to Sir John Hall.

The man genuinely enjoys treating everyone with utter contempt.

Maybe at that stage all he was thinking of was SD running the club shop?

We should definitely chill. Our signings came in too late so need a little time in training to get into the system we are playing. We are all about graft with this current squad so everyone has to know their job. We played pretty well against spurs. Cardiff's main aim will be to try and ruin the game against everyone and make it scrappy. I'm not saying it's all rosey but definitely need to stay calm for now.
