Just reading the Hereford match report, clearly he had another poor game,as most regular fans know our midfield is lacking any meaningful command even with Wotton around,as noted yesterday, the service to our forward and wing players is often disjointed, limiting scoring chances.Walton looks out of his depth at times and lacking confidence.Personally I would like to see a change of captaincy, given our perilous position, the chances of offending a players feelings is less important than jepordising our chances of league survival.

He had one good attribute.....he didn't miss penalties........WRONG.

There was a lot of adverse criticism....that Walton and Wotton should not play in mid-field together......they were both too slow.......seeing that this should be the engine room of the team......is that why we're not scoring enough goals ?

New boy Big Fletch....is proving his worth both ends with his head.

I'd have to agree with the above, sounded like Walton had a bad game.

The penalty apparently was hit with force and hit the post coming out too far for it to be knocked back in - shame but Hereford would have seen it as justice as a penalty should never have been awarded.

Having both Walton and Wotton in midfield is a mistake, there's only room for one such player but I'm not sure which one I'd chose or who I'd replace the other with.

If it was a choice between them.....Wotton would win everytime........local lad with green blood running through his veins.......he never wanted to leave in the first place.

Not sure about old Gat-Po's ( do you remember her, still around I think) comments in the past about him being disruptive in the dressing room.....how is he now I wonder with Walton as captain.

Not sure about that Plym, I think Walton is younger for one thing and although he did miss that pen yesterday that is pretty rare for him. He is also pretty green although of course he will never be as green as Wottsy.

Mrs LaLa.....I won't say no more.......Walton would have to turn into Messi........before I would say anything in his favour.

Then we could sell him before mid-night when he would turn back into a pumkin.

To be fair Plym, neither of them are Messi are they, just trying to seperate the two that's all, never did consider either of tham Messi's.

Are you threatening people again Gat? That's plym and joe now. Yellow card I think and maybe closing in on a red.

I have made my opinion on Walton known a couple of times previously and it hasn't changed. Not bothered he missed a penalty as that has happened to all players who take them and it is only a matter of time no matter what their record. His attitude is all wrong. He does not have the talent to have a chip on his shoulder and he looks like he has one all of the time. He just doesn't put in a shift for me and blames others around him for his own inadequacies. That is not the sign of a good captain or indeed a captain at all. Wotton does chivvy people along and encourage in his own way. Not the most friendly of characters in a game but he does try and give everything. For me Walton will never make the grade and therefore it is no contest in a comparison of 2 not great players. We need an old head in midfield who can pass a ball and link up play and one with younger legs who can do the breaking up of play and back up the forwards. We ain't going to get either this season.
