Personally I think we need quite a clear out in the summer
I have earmarked 9 at least with no view on some others. It is a lot to change but we desperately need at least two central creative midfielders, more creativity and pace up front with at least one or two coming in there. Need better cover for Huth and Shawcross but I suppose I could live with Upson and Woodgate if I had to. Need a right and left back with some pace and at least one more wide player to cover for Pennant and Etherington. Not much then but thats how weak I think we are

Asmir Begovic stay but made a few too many mistakes for me.Poor for the Wolves goal yesterday
Danny Higginbotham Go_Out on loan can't see him regaining Premiership standard
Robert Huth stay but please only at Centre Half
    Glenn Whelan stay
Tom Soares (on loan to Hibs go
Kenwyne Jones Surprisingly I would keep him. I like him but he has had few opportunities recently. Think they will sell to finance
Ricardo Fuller talk of a one year deal but should go for me. Too temperamental and too inconsistent
Mamady Sidibe fear he will stay and I know he has been a great servant but too injury prone and not mobile enough-should leave
    Marc Wilson stay
Salif Diao long past it-should go
Jermaine Pennant stay and should play most games
    Ryan Shawcross stay -rock
Dean Whitehead stay but should be squad player not starting
Jonathan Walters stay but should be squad player not starting-has been found out this year imho
Matthew Upson Go. Not been particularly impressed
Andrew Davies (on loan to Bradford) go
Michael Tonge (on loan to Barnsley ) go-nowhere near good enough
Rory Delap stay for one more season but as a squad player
Peter Crouch stay but needs better service
Matthew Etherington stay but needs a better season next year
Carlo Nash need three keepers so stay
Andy Wilkinson Love him to death but struggled this year. Squad player at best
    Thomas Sorensen stay
    Ryan Shotton stay
Diego Arismendi (on loan to Huddsfd ) Go Given the lack of faith in him-pointless staying unless he is going to get a run
Cameron Jerome stay done well. Should play more
Matthew Lund (on loan to Brist R ) No view not seen him play
Florent Cuvelier (on loan to Walsall ) No view not see him play
Jonathan Woodgate Go injury prone and not impressed this year
Wilson Palacios stay but needs a good pre season
Michael Clarkson No view not see him play
Louis Moult (on loan to Alfrtn ) stay
Lucas Dawson No view not see him play

Can't disagree with most of that Northern, exceptions being:

Upson - stay, good cover, not done too much wrong.

Arismendi - stay but PLAY him, would like to see him alongside Palacios.

    Diao is going.

    And finally, Pulis - go.

There will be a few differing views on who goes and who stays but I think the core set of players would be agreed on. I would just like to make 2 points that are both ironic in the extreme and painful to admit!!!!!!

    1. We know that some decent players will go this year, not because thety are not good enough but because they have been blessed with the TP touch of death.
    2. I cant believe we are still talking about the same fuking positions/players needed to move us forward as a footballing team!

Its like groundhog day in the extreme!

I was told too feck off by two " part time fans yesterday" becasue I said I thought Whelan was playing CRAP? He gave the ball away numerous times.. he has good and bad games but I agree Smither's... the SAME problem and will T.P. get it sorted.

Anyone else notice Palacios actually put his FOOT on the ball LOOK up and actually he PASSED IT to Pennant.

My wishlist at least one left back and TWO midfield player's. Oh, and another out and out winger.

The most telling thing for me was in that Kitson interview. He said he "thought" he could adapt, but just couldn't and I will imagine that will be the same for a lot of new players who will come to the club under the current regime! Alternativley they will just not come because of the past issue where players havent been able to fit in!

    Stokie lad
To be fair to Whelan, it's not helping when Delap, Diao and name any other's apart from Palacios who have been paired with Whelan.. they all ain't good enough IMO.
Wilson P being the exception, when he's fully fit.
Palacios even Wilson? our current left back? WITH the right midfield may well prove to be a bonus. Let's HOPE that T.P. does not rest on this season and think this squad is good enough becasue it's far from it. YES they may well keep up in the league but my own oppinion. IF we had a "good midfield" we would finish top half with ease. We simply do not keep the ball and pass it often enough. It's not my having a go a TP becasue we all know where the problems are.. it needs sorting ASAP.

TBH I've done this topic to death more than once.

I've have always liked him, but to be fair he is at best a squad player. Its an opinion and I think your views are a tad harsh, considering some of the other midfield tripe we put with! But thats what makes the game so great, everyone has a different perception on players and teams and I can see where you are coming from as Whelan is played as our creative mifielder - not exactly a guy who can unlock teams is he!

For me Wilson and Palcious are the 2 CM's for us with a player like Whitehead sitting infront of three CM's!

I think although I said IMO Whelan had a poor game yesterday, he could with the right player's do OK.
Will be interesting to see a STOKE FIT Wilson Palacios next season though.. as someone else said Arismendi?
And Louis Moult? I have seen Louis play quite a few times and I rate the lad.. can he do it in the Premier League.

Seeing that I am reading a book called "The Boss" all about Sir Alex great read by the way.. he quotes in the book.

" If a kid is good enough to bring to your'e club and you brought him here, unless you give the lad a run in the first team you will never find out"

I am of course comparing Moult, Arsismendi and the lad from Crewe Lund.. we will NEVER know will we?

Fergie was answering the now infamous quote by Alan Hansen " You won't win anything with kids"

Different team OK they may have been better player's but, the principle is the same. Mr P YOU bought them take note please.

My thoughts exactly, you have to give them a chance! When the established players don't do it, or when we have nothing to play for there is no reason not to give them a chance. Under the current regime you will always see a Diao, Delap, Sidibie (when fit), Fuller get a run ahead off any of the youngsters. Such a shame and really adds weight to the fact that our transfer and development policy is still not premier league quality!

This is totally OFF TOPIC but i have a confession to make.

I just congratulated Arsenal on their win today.. <yikes> in part becasue of that cheating diving fouling **** Balloteli! Karma?

  13. I know it is off topic but a draw would have been best! Wipe that grin off Whingers face! Ballotelli lived up to expectation and why Mancini could not see that happening in the first half I do not know!

    Potts You actuallyt congratulated ArseNIL????????

Mancini is similar to Pulis in terms of man management = zilch.

He can have no credibility after the Tevez affair followed up by Balotelli's antics on and off the field. Plus he said that if he played in the same team as him, he would punch him in the face every day!! Better than a naked flying head butt eh?

Have to agree with you Smithers about the league not being bought, but probably it always has been, Blackburn being an obvious example, Chelsea for sure and to a certain extent Man Utd.

If Man City had a united (no pun intended) dressing room, they would be home and dry by now, but as said with Tevez and Balotelli playing silly buggers and getting away with it, I can imagine what the rest of the squad think about it, one was quoted as saying that Balotelli gets away with it because he is Italian!!! Mancini out in the summer methinks, the Arabs don't do failure!!

Maybe Sidibie, Diao, Fuller etc... are Welsh??:1980_boogie_down:

  18. For me the following shoud go:

    Woodgate
    Soares
    Tongue
    Mama Sidibie
    Fuller
    Davies
    Collins
    Higgy
    Kenywne Jones

I would also like to see more options in Midfield given the complete inability to pass the ball in any shape consistently! Nothing new there really. Please play Palacios. My bet is he will play this afternoon in palce of Whitehead or Whelan.

In attack Jerome must have more opportunity and somebody to play alongside Crouch.

In defence WE MUST get full backs who know how to defend and support the attack. Nothing really new there either!

It will be something over £43 million Stoke pick up this year from being in the Premier League. A friend had the complet breakdown yesterday from the 2010-2011 season and simply amazed me. If there is interest in thsi I will get a post up.

    Cheers

By all means, it should show the money available for finishing as high as possible, as PC would like us to achieve.
