Man Utd have reportedly signed Phil Jones from Blackburn for about £17m. They are also lining up De Gea for £20m, plus a load more big money transfers (Wesly Sneijder etc.).

    BUT

Man Utd are in a debt of nearly £1billion. Why are they allowed to spend so much when they owe so much???

I think the Fa should stop them and force them to pay off a large chunk of the debts before buying any players.

    BUT

The FA are all biased, corrupt and cheaters, who let Utd players get away with punching people in the middle of the pitch.

It wouldn't surprise me if the FA were paying 1/2 of the fee to help ease Utd's debt.

Its shameful what the club and their players can get away with, and I think the FA have to do something.

    BUT

    We all know they won't.

Currently their debt is manageable according to the chairman (who had to prove it was being dealt with) and as long s they can manage it then the FA will never get involved.

They haven't broken any rules, so the FA can't do anything to them. They've also got about £500m worth of the debt being paid off by the end of the seaosn i think, according to an article on bbc news a few months ago. And it's not the club with the debt, it's the parent owner, i.e, the Glazer family. The club itself isn't in that large debt.

They bought the club with borrowed money so its the clubs debt, not theirs.

I'm just saying that they were up in front of a parliamentary committee and had to prove their accounts and show that the debts were sustainable and were being dealt with.

It was towards the middle of this season.

They also restructured their debt repayments recently from a report I read in the FT

They borrowed the money, not the club, they did, therefore, they owe the bank the money, they just use the club to pay it off

we're actually about £450 mill in debt

also, the debt that we're in..isn't from spending irresponsibly like leeds etc..our debt is purely down to individuals buying the club and putting it on us, so it's hardly something we've done grossly wrong.

The reason they can spend this money is because they use loans... Man Utd are one of the most profitable clubs in the world.. basically they wont go into administration or have any debt problems because they are so profitable they can pay off interest payments on these loans.. the banks that they owe make a lot of money off man utds debts and interest payments.
