He'ss 33 years old, the only major torunament in international football he's played in is the world cup, England would need all the experience they could get, he would help the youngsters settle in to the team.

his experience will be key, he should go, after him and Rio England doesn't really have an experience centre back and he is a great leader and will cheer the Englands lads up even if he does go and not play, he should go, his experience is vital, remember what happened to our defense in the world cup? have people forgot that? Rio has to go, he must go, its good for England if he goes.

Lescott isnt even a footballer haha.

Kompany is better than Rio.....but purely because Rio is by all intensive purposes a cripple.

He also ****s of ****s like John Terry. Hes still the most influential English defender around as who actually listens to **** Terry?

    He will go.

Based on Rio's form the last few months he should go and start. It'll be interesting to see if Welbeck, Smalling, Jones and Carrick get called up. Carrick definitely deserves to go, but he hasn't made an appearance since before the world cup.

Seriously Lescott is utter balls. Kompany is quality and would enhance any defence in world football imo as would Hart. But Lescott, dear lord he's useless and I do not care in which team he plays. Believed to have cost some £22 million! <laugh>

The England old guard need clearing out. Thats Roys first test. Rio is definately on that list, i would probably put him in the squad but i wouldn't start him anymore. i wouldn't take Terry at all.

i would rather have him n the team then Cahill or Lescott or Dawson because of his experience, with Cahill or lescott or Dawson in the team you can just expect a mistake any time, remember in the world cup 2010? Rio is reliable and he's a know how, he won't crack up when under pressure, he won't be out of position, he knows where to be.

if Rio is **** then so is your racist club captain terry

Roy should just take the best team he can take to the Euros. With a month until the tournament, he won't have time to bleed in the next generation of players. For World Cup Qualifiers he should drop the old guard and get a team with the players he should be peaking around the time 2014 comes around.

    Drop the oldies.

When fit I think Rio deserves a starting spot for England, but its time to get rid of the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Rio and build for the future.

These players couldn't achieve success for England in their prime, not going to do it now.
