Should TF think about getting a proper manager in now, not as an attempt to keep us up, but to have 9 games to look at this squad, get to know the players ,have a proper pre season and transfer window and be prepared for next season where ever we may be. Ramsey although a decent bloke just doesn't cut it, he reminds me of the bloke who took over at Wolves after they sacked McCarthy. Lamb to the slaughter. Some of his decisions have been bizarre to say the least. We would have picked up some points out of these last 3 games with Harry.
I'm afraid that is true. Tony should have backed him in the window and we'd still have half a chance.
No point, who would come in now? Best line up a manager to start in June when we know where we'll be and not a panic choice who'll be here for the wrong reasons. Also, he'd start with a clean slate instead of a run of defeats...
Think which ever manager was at QPR, and they failed to win a few games, they would get stick from a certain section of the fans.
cR has to try and change FFS loads on here wanted youth players in the team I wanted Adel We have got those things Back him win or lose
He's done a lot of what people have called for...bought in younger players, and played Adel. The team have shown more fight in the last few games, and it's not been as bad as it had been. Barton's red has cost us, but he will be back. The rest of the team seem to be playing with chins up. Let's give CR our total support, and see where that gets us. Calling for him to be replaced so soon doesn't do any good IMO.
Didn't show any fight at selhurst in the first half, heads dropped after going behind, of course I will support him, but he's taken over in a no win situation & feel for him.
Absolutely. They're all out there waiting for the call. A proper manager. What d'you mean? Like Redknapp or Hughes? How about Jim Magilton? He'd soon headbutt them into shape. How about Ian Dowie or Paul Jewell? No? I thought not. Now we don't even give guys 12 games to make a judgment about them. I know. Let's call Harold back. He would have done soooooooooooooooooo much better had he been backed to the hilt. 'twas ever thus with our Harold. Never his fault. Always the fault of those who failed to back him. FFS. He had two seasons and perpetually got it wrong. The truth is we were already in a hell of a mess when Redknapp was finally given the facts of life that Tony wasn't convinced that opening the cheque book to buy another of his duds was the way forward. Who did he go for? Defoe, Crouch and Adebayor. There must be someone else I've forgotten who might have been able to get off the treatment table in time for the last couple of weeks of the season who we could have got for a bargain £6 mill. or so Let's wake up shall we. Defoe hasn't exactly set the world alight at Sunderland. Adebayor is so good that naturally he forces his way into the team at Spurs. It defies logic for his manager to prefer to play some kid called Kane instead of him. And Crouchie? Well as we seem to be purists on this board, another hoofball expert who scores occasionally for Stoke and who does not want to return here for a realistic wage does not seem to me to be the answer. Any proper manager would have struggled with a team that had played 11 away and lost 11. Sherwood might have done a bit better I suppose but then he didn't want to come here. We can only guess at his reasons but I suspect they had something to do with the number of noughts on his salary cheque. Ramsey knew the size of the task and was grateful for the opportunity. Frankly I 'm grateful that he took it. Don't make it a poisoned chalice. It's time for the senior players to step up and take responsibility. The youngsters need their help not have you lot damning them with faint praise.
No point in replacing the manager at this stage as if anyone still thinks we will stay up they are quite frankly in my opinion delusional. My take on TF appointing Ramsey is that he'd seen the relegation writing on the wall and went for the cheapest option until the summer and will then reassess the situation.
I don't ever remember Harry being ever than complimentary about the board and seem to recall that the players you mentioned he was after were only ever going to be loans. Not sure that Charlie Austin has been a dud either. The whole business around the appointment of CR was bizarre ; Tony's crazy tweets, les in the background, Tim sherwood who is apparently a big mate of CR who was nailed on and then wasn't. I read that salary was not ten big concern for Tim sherwood and that his concern was more future spending budget. I always believed that we should have approached Warnock who may or may not have given us a chance but it would have been low cost gamble. The games to give youngsters a chance are LC and FAC games and Harry should have done more there. We should stay with CR for the rest of the season and give him our support
No point changing now. Lets just see how it goes. As for Harry he had enough money and brought in players that failed. No way would i have given him more.
We should give Ramsey our most vociferous support, after all he's been dealt a poor hand, but is still willing to give it his best shot. A new manager now won't change our fortunes, I'm glad Sherwood didn't join and hope that until the end of the season at least, Ramsey can get a result or two (five would be nice) as reward from the slightly better football we have enjoyed compared to when Redknapp & co were in charge.
CR has a team behind him inc Les Ferdinand. They need to put their heads together and select a team that looks strong and can get a result. The selection on Saturday was totally wrong - everyone could see that except for the team that chose them. The decision not to make substitutions earlier was just bizarre.
