I don't think Martinez played Diame that often hence why Diame either didn't sign a new contract or was offered one. If we were to get Martinez, I don't see Diame coming.
Good point, if Martinez comes in he obviously doesn't rate the guy. I'm sure he has a dodgy ticker? We need cover for Lucas and I can't see the point on spending on someone to warm the bench so a free or older player would make sense.
Yeah I think he would have been a good back up for Lucas. I'm actually quite excited to see how Martinez will set the side, his signings, etc (if he is appointed!).

I don't think Martinez is going to get the job. I'm reading between the lines but I think he wanted more control than FSG wanted to give him and that he's decided against the job because of this. At least he's sticking to what he believes. I don't know how much control Rodgers has at Swansea? If he does get the job I'd back him he seems a good manager and he wants to play good attacking football. He's also good at handling the media from what I watched last season.
