I would advise the club to give a very very serious look at this lad, in my opinion he'll be one of the world's best goalkeepers within the next ten years and he's playing in the Israeli league. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/predrag-rajkovic/profil/spieler/190263
Sell Marshie - No Cover needed (if Moore goes out on loan - not on bench at Bournemouth) - Yes but at £2m? Were Marshie to be sold to maximise his current value then your suggestion could work.
I'd let Marshall go if it meant funds for a decent striker. Our back-up keepers are a better bet than our first choice strikers. Analysing it, Marshall has been a great shot stopper but we've all bemoaned his distribution. With the new formation is shot stopping more important than commanding your back three, dominating your area / sweeping and distributing the ball quickly and accurately? His key strength could be less important than the other attributes this season.
Still needs to be a good shot stopper. Look at Loris at Spurs and Schmeichel at Leicester. And I don't see our defence being as good as their's. His short distribution has not been a problem. The lack of defenders in space maybe. It's his distance stuff that is not so good. Which should not be so key if our tactics have changed.
We need to keep Marshall. The sale of Fabio (and possibly Gunnar) should see us with a few bob, as long as it's put into the transfer funds, we NEED a proven goalscorer.
Assuming both Fabio and Gunnar go, that should mean about £4M in cash coming in and freeing up of at least 45 grand a week - if Dickgacoi goes as well as reported on a free, make that about 75 grand a week. Now who could we get up front for £4M cash and a 75 grand a week contract carrot to make the difference from a widely predicted 8th to10th place finish to at least top 6 a reality? I'd probably expect autos for that sort of money.........
Marshall goes and I reckon thats 10 points lost. Problem is the club is happy to just debt reduce and keep its Championship status. Marshall is a top end PL keeper. If he wants a move we cant stand in his way after the service hes given us. Luckily he loves it here.
Fingers crossed it all seems quiet on that front. Should Gunnar go for the reported £2m and we get rid of Macheda, ALF and Dikgacoi as a minimum we will be in a much stronger financial position, not need to cash in on Marshie and maybe able to get in the striker we clearly need. If Wigan sold us Huws to finance buying Bamford surely we could be in the market for him too? Looks like the gang of three don't want to go anywhere unless they match their wages with us. That being so we are stuck with them all for another season. There must be a way of doing a deal even if we pay half their wages. That alone would get £20/25 a week off the books. Some creative accounting needed.
Which clubs in their right mind will want to take ALF unless city pay most his wages. Wolves were the mugs last season, just cannot see any club doing it this time. Macheda surely would be better than Zahore. Healey or O'Sullivan? But is the the real problem the lack of quality service up to the forwards or the lack of running off the ball by the forwards to get into decent positions (assuming they can stay onside) or the forwards lack of quality?
Lets be fair, Pilks is NOT a striker. Sure he will get a few goals but out of position he will never be a 'goal machine'. I would most definitely give Healey a shot! What's the worst that can happen?
There is a reason Healey hasn't had many chances. He just isn't up to it at this level and has hardly shaken down trees when out on loan. Scores well for the Development Team but that's about it. Could be an alternative to Zohore I suppose - a bit of little and large with Fred but I wouldn't hold out any hope.
