There can be no doubting the fact that the 'Pool job is the biggest poisoned chalice in football. Let's examine the evidence. Benitez, their most successful manager since the 80s, sacked for being too fat. Roy "the Gent" Hodgson, sacked for being too kind. "King" Kenny, sacked for being a tramp, despite being probably 'Pool's greatest legend. Rodgers, sacked for no longer having Suarez in his team. Let's face it, Klopp really cannot expect anything other than to get royally shafted, eventually. 'Pool are, at best, a top-of-mid-table side. Finishing 6th, 7th or even 8th, in the Prem as about as much as they can expect, even with a decent manager. Even if Klopp proves himself to be a decent Prem manager (and there is no guarantee that he'll be better than any of the donkeys they've already sacked), they can expect to finish no better than 6th. Will that be acceptable to Mousers? Of course it won't! Mousers are known as the most delusional fans in the entire world of football. They genuinely, and laughably, believe that they are title contenders. We've had the sorry spectacle of clowns such as Robbie Fowler saying that "Liverpool deserve to be in the top 4," when it is plain to every non-Mouser (and every non-'Pool-born fan pretending to be a Mouser - which is probably 95% of LFC fan-base) that 'Pool are no better than 6th spot, and are likely to remain that way for many, many years to come. In my view, Klopp would be best advised to stay well clear of the 'Pool vacancy. The new manager should be someone who is looking to step up from a team lower than 6th, and to have a go at making their mark with a team that has "top 6" as it's realistically achievable objective. In short, 'Pool ought to be looking at the likes of Big Sam, McClaren, Tim Sherwood, or even Giggsy. But what do you lads think? As always, lads, please respect the serious nature of this discussion, and do your level best to refrain from wumming. Cheers.
I don't think they want Klopp. They don't rate Martinez as he was relegated with Wigan. Klopp was of course relegated with Mainz and failed to get them promoted again. Mainz are now an established Bundesliga team.
Spurs (A), Southampton (H), Chelsea (A), Palace (H), City (A), interspersed with some dodgy looking cup games. Then the new, new manager will have Swansea (H) as his first fixture.
Klopp nearly relegates Dortmund and quits. Now Dortmund are doing well. Klopp will be no better than Rogers
Big job for Klopp. His reputation is likely to be trounced into the ground. Needs to win stuff and convince to get himself a big job. The chances of that happening are below zero.
I'll gladly **** up the job for you. And, I won't even ask for a pay rise, I'll do it for the same money Brenda was getting. You won't get a better deal....you know it makes sense...er..it's the right thing to do..sorry, can't think of any more cliches...
Not often i'll agree with HIAG but yea, Pool fans really do have the most undeserved sense of entitlement. They think they are still relevant on the world stage, they are *not* and the sooner they wake up from their delusions the better off they will be.
