to rebuild a new United team? First of all, the majority of you will instantly assume I'm WUMing because the title of the article - just to clarify, I am not WUMing neither am I trying to wind anyone up. We all have different views and opinions of our current situation at our beloved club. I for one believe that it is time Fergie made anticipated changes to our squad if he wants additional succession. We all would like to see new faces at United, however it just wouldn't workout for obvious reasons. As a result of that our players are having to undeservingly suffer because of Fergie's reluctance. We spent a significant amount of money on average players like Jones, Young and De Gea in the summer, can you guys really see Fergie coughing up more money to solve the problems we have in our team? There's only one way of sorting this mess out - cashing in on Rooney. Cashing in on Rooney would subsequently help us raise funds to rebuild a brand new team around the likes of Nani, Lindegaard, Valencia, Anderson and the young Englishmen Cleverly. We need to make these changes as soon as possible to ensure we do not fall below expectations and most importantly our standards in Europe. However unthinkable selling Roo may seem, it is worth remembering Ferguson has never been afraid to take such bold decisions during his quarter-of-a-century era at United. In fact, such decisions that have kept us as the country's dominant football force. He's simply a bad example to the rest of the lads, I don't see why we shouldn't cash in on him. We as fans, must make sure the name of our club doesn't acquire damages because of Rooney's evitable behaviour. And by cashing in on Rooney, we could possibly receive an excessive amount of money - which is what we is needed in order to prosper. I personally haven't forgotten nor forgiven Rooney for threatening to leave us last year in his stand-off with the club, before we eventually doubled his money by agreeing a new five-year deal worth £200,000 a week. The next six months are crucial for Rooney in terms of his United future. Ferguson has shown in the past he can be pitiless with high profile players when he feels they have served their purpose at Manchester United. If Roo wants to remain at United and not join the list of Fergie exiles, whose careers were arguably never the same after they departed from Manchester, he must buck his ideas up fast.
Just how much do you think you will get for him? I do not see any of the really top clubs wanting him. You could probably go rip off Man City or Liverpool but I doubt you would even get 30m for him. He is good but hardly shows it anymore.
Newcastle can get 30 million for Carroll and yet your implying United would struggle to get 30 million for Rooney.
There are mugs out there willing to pay top money. However would you sell to Liverpool? I suspect not.
You post seems high on style but low on substance Hizmo. What would the new team look like? Who would you bring in with the money raised from Rooney? It's all very well to say we should rebuild, but you don't seem to have any ideas other than saying we should build a team round our goalkeeper and our wingers...that hardly inspires confidence!
You do have a lot of quality in your team. Players like Hernandez, Cleverly, Nani, Lindegaard, Vidic, Rafael, Smalling etc are players you can easily fill the gaps with. Even players like Fletcher, Rooney and Giggs can do a good job for you. You are a creative midfielder away from running away with this league. Why not sign Modric??
What I'm trying to say is we've just spent millions on youngsters and I can't foresee Fergie spending a huge amount of money in the space of a year. It's really impossible unless we sell which is more likely than buying.
How the **** is this WUMing? We all have different opinions and views on things and I don't necessarily have to agree with everything single drivel posted on here.
http://www.click-manchester.com/spo...on-move-for-manchester-united-ace-rooney.html I wouldn't be entirely averse to selling Rooney if we could get Khedira, Diarra and a fat wad of cash as well. He's a class player, but he is our highest earner by quite some way, so taking him off the wage structure would give us a lot more scope to bring in another attacking midfielder like Ganso, Gotze or Dzagoev. But it should only be considered if we have a definite replacement in place, not just to get some money that we may spend later if we need to.
I'd be very happy with a new midfielder, although I think a hard working defensive / box to box midfielder would be more helpful at this stage than a creative one. I just don't see the argument for selling Rooney just to replace him with another unspecified player. Solve problems in one area, create them in another. Do we need to spend a huge amount of money? If so, on who? Once again, lack of substance, must try harder in future Hiz
Try harder for? We need to spend money to improve on our current squad. I wouldn't mind seeing two strikers, a defender and a creative midfielder we've lacked for years. There's so many choices out there, but the deal must involve big money. Hulk, Khedira, Diara, Higuain, Gotze & Hazard could possibly be lured to Manchester, if the deal is satisfactory for their clubs.
Hulk has an £84 million release clause Hazard is a left winger Gotze is not for sale So that's half your targets already out of reach. Would you be happy to sell Rooney and just get Khedira, Diarra and Higuain? It'd hardly solve our creativity problems!
Correct. Liverpool were desperate and stupid. Look at the clubs of similar stature to yours. They have no need for him or have players that are better than him. Wayne is a good player who has flashes of brilliance. RM, Barca, Milan, City would not want him and while PSG and Malaga are the new rich clubs, WR won't want to go there!!!
