The argument will be that a plumber could come out and be a plumber again etc etc

However, my view is that sport/entertainment is slightly different. Somehow it feels wrong that he could be on TV celebrating scoring a goal, which rubs the noses of the victim and their family in it. So no!!

No, given the nature of his offence he should be banned for life from football, and for good measure also prevented from earning high wages as a professional athlete

Personally i am surprise Clough would want him near the club, Am surprised so many of there fans including there supporters club director seem ok with what he has done! And am surprised his girlfriend does not see the significance in what he's done to another gal !!
Would it be like this at other clubs id like too think not really

Like everyone else who serves a sentence for any crime, he is entitled to work after this is completed.
Like it or not, that is the same for everyone in a free country.
Does not mean that I endorse what he did. Personally I would vote for legally enforced castration for sex offenders.

I'm all for someone being reintegrated into society after serving their time. However, it's worth noting that a lot of people won't return to their former jobs after a rape conviction. If you were to be convicted you'd probably struggle to find employment. Your old employer certainly wouldn't take you back if you were a convicted rapist.

Frankly, if you read into his case, it was technically rape, but he didn't force himself on a girl. His case was that a court was unable to state that the girl was in a fit state to consent to sex due to drinking.

The difference between "us and them" is that he is highly skilled, and if his ex-employer didn't take him back he'd easily find another team. Deep down, I think this is what pisses people off a lot about a case like this. He'll get away with this, whereas we wouldn't.

It's also worth noting that footballers have always got away with these kinds of things. Hell, Patrick Kluivert was convicted of manslaughter and got off with community service.
