in my opinion betsy should start against mk what do other fans think.his experience could be just what we need for this game
absolutely, my team would be: Bull Mccoy, Winfield, Tunnicliffe, Basey Betsy, Donnelly, Lewis, Grant Beavon, Rendell Subs: Foster, Bloomfield, Ibe, Harris, Strevens
yes, him and grant on the wings with donnelly and lewis in the middle. possibly rowlands as well if hes avalible
personally he should not be in the team in my eyes because at league two level most of you complained at him. now people want him back in the team. and his pace he used to have is gone making him relaying on other parts of his game where he will make mistakes. and gary waddock is most likely not to take him any way, not surprised to see him go in January with other fringe players. then hopefully we can bring IN THE NEW betsey.
I think I would give Betsy a chance on the right but sub him early if he is ineffective. I hope Rowlands is available, and plays.
fair point ron, rowlands would be a good hard working player with stewy lewis. but is betsey realy cut out for this level any more? and hes so slow compared to last time we were in leauge 1
how can you know if betsys cut out for this level if he hasernt been tried? his only games have been in the cups, one of which he scored in and another he was given man of the match i dont think anyone thinks hes turned into messi overnight but he should be given a fair chance, everyone else has
I think the wingers pick them selves. Grants display at the weekend was one of few positives and when Harris came on we looked dangerous. The problem we had was controlling the cm area. The only reason to bring betsy back would be experience. I would also like to see mc coy pushed forward as I think he could do a good job there
Whatever you think of Kevin Betsy, he would have been a better choice than Ben Strevens on the left-wing against Bournemouth. Personally, I think Betsy's one on the few players we possess who are good enough for this division, and if you believe Brownie's comments on Twitter, the only reason he doesn't play is down to a bust up with the manager. Last year Waddock allegedly fell out with Leon Johnson and didn't swallow his pride until it was almost too late. This season it's Betsy, who has hardly been a renowned troublemaker throughout his long career. It's rumoured that Waddock doesn't take kindly to constructive criticism, but whatever the problem is, it's getting in the way of us fielding our strongest team and we obviously can't afford that. They need to sort it out.
My preference on the wings are Harris and Grant, but Betsy should have been given a chance by now to stake his claim for a place given how poor we've been. LC sums it up when saying he would have at the very least been better than playing Strevens on the left, so something doesn't quite add up. Betsy was often very frustrating last season, but on his day he still had it and he had a good season when we were in league 1 a couple of seasons ago. I'd like to see him involved at some stage on Saturday.
My team for sat then would be Bull McCoy, winfield, tunnicliffe, basey, Harris, Lewis, Rowlands, grant, Bevon, Im in two minds about the next player I think Donnelly and play a 451 but don't think we have a effective solo front man. So would go for rendell and a 442 but think we will come unstuck with this
Betsy's prospects of playing look a little worse today given that we have signed a winger on loan. I suspect there will be a "contract cancelled by mutual agreement" sooner or later.
I notice almost everyone on this board prefers McCoy over Foster at right back. I 100% agree with this, but Gary seems to be watching 2 different players. Am I missing something?
In Edinburgh LC, and it's ****ing freezing. In response to the original post on this, not sure if Betsy should start - would be a lot to chuck him in when he's hardly played all season (although you could argue that he couldn't do any worse than many other of our players). However I would suggest he should start on the bench. However, judging by the fact that his first team profile has been removed from the Offal, I don't think there's much chance of him playing. Would like to see both loan signings in the first XI, a breath of fresh air could be what's needed and Trotta looks like a goal machine given a chance. Hope he can do it in the league. Can't believe how the Gasroom (yet again) has been banging on about what a pair of rubbish signings they are, some of these people honestly think their opinion is better than Waddock's and they haven't even seen these guys play. If MacNamee really is that bad, then it took Watford 92 games and Norwich 32 games to work this out. I think there could be a bit of a question over his general overall fitness and he is a slight lad by the looks of things (just like me ha ha) but whatever happens I welcome him to the club and want to distance myself from the Gaseous Room kneejerk haters.
I think MacNamee is not allowed to play today (against his parent club) and the loan officially starts Monday. So he'll be ready for the next game.
