I for one am bored rigid with the whole Ackworth circus and I’ve had enough…!! I appreciate the fella clearly has issues and for this I am very sorry. However, I AM NOT A BLOODY SOCIAL WORKER nor do I have any particular inclination to become one. Having said this I along with many others have attempted in vain to reach out to him in the hope of bringing him on board with how things are done on here. Yet all such requests have failed so very comprehensively to penetrate his dome of ivory… What more can be done…? I can only speak for myself when I say that he is completely ruining my enjoyment of this once great forum. I therefore make no apologies whatsoever for having both feet firmly planted in the BAN HIM camp. I’m genuinely interested to discover what the general consensus is amongst my fellow Not606ers. So where do you boys stand on the Ackworth debate...? No doubt there will be some of you who think I’m ‘bang out of order’ for initiating a thread such as this one. Can someone please tell me what JA has done in the last few days to deserve a banning ? A month or so ago I probably would've agreed with you, but right now, I can't see it. As far as I can see, on the main Charlton page, there are three topics started by JA, and four topics written *about* him by other people. Wanting Capello to be sacked (on the General Chat forum) is not enough to ban someone. Going to Southend instead of the Valley is annoying but not a reason to ban someone. Having two shadows following him around isn't really his fault. Responding to threads about him isn't reason to ban someone. Ultimately, if you want to avoid JA threads, just don't click on threads with his name in the title or with him as the 'thread starter'. Those threads are still in the minority on here. If and when he breaks the 2 threads rule, then the mods can review his status on here imo. As far as I can see now, he's sticking to the rules. If people want to prevent him from having so many self-publicity threads, then I think that's a reasonable request if the mods are willing and able to keep an eye on it. However, it seems that if JA is banned right now, it will have been because people on here just don't like him. I'll have to remember that when Nick Gray appears
Whilst I can see why/how it can be annoying, the problems on here are no way as bad as some users I've come across over the years on other forums (and not just football) I'm quite happy to carry on with "if its a thread that doesn't intrest me/have anything to do with football, I won't read it", simple ...though I am slightly more tolerate then most people
I'm with IA on this. Surely you are not forced to read his posts, many of which I agree are totally banal. But its my choice if I choose to read or ignore. Really dont see how it spoils peoples enjoyment of the site. Certainly doesnt spoil mine. He is now raising old theads and polluting interesting threads with endless apologise. Please please ban him. he was like this 17 years ago in person ruining my footie and he is still at it without even going. I don't have a problem with JA. I don't understand why it is so difficult to ignore his contributions. I did have a problem with A2C and found his posts quite difficult to ignore, but I have noticed that several sensible threads about purely football matters get very few replies compared to JA's very silly threads. I also noticed that this forum became pretty quiet not too long ago when JA was not posting.
Sadly I do not have the luxury of being sat behind a computer all day with my work. I am therefore forced to access this site through my phone 85% of the time. As Iâm sure you can all appreciate, connecting to a site such as this via 3G (if Iâm lucky) can be more than a little torturous in terms of download speeds. So, when I do finally get in and I am greeted with a plethora of absolute meaningless drivel from Ackworth to wade through my heart just sinks and more often than not I simply donât bother. This is why the whole Ackworth debacle is doing my head in. Coupled with the fact that even sensible threads started by genuine posters are being tarnished by the ramblings of a narcissistic mad man, are what is causing my enjoyment of this forum to be greatly diminished. I always say it as I see it (Iâm not always right but thatâs how I was brought up to be) and FOR ME his presence on here is not a positive one in any way shape or form. I loved the old 606 days and when that shut I didnât think any other forum could come close to filling the void. However, Not606 has been absolutely different class and imo ten times better than its predecessor. Please believe me when I say that I want nothing more than to enjoy this forum as much as I did pre Ackworth. Yet no matter how much I try to block him out I simply canât. I guess Iâm just a sensitive soul (not something Iâve ever been accused of by the way) or Ackworth must just be my kryptonite⦠I dunnoâ¦!! Anyway, Iâve said all I intend to on this subject now and the early indications in terms of the poll speak for themselves. It is with a heavy heart that I will continue to curtail my use/input of/on this forum until such time the Ackworth circus rolls out of town. Franco⦠Over, but not completely out .
Franco it's best to follow your conviction and leave. There are some other really good sites which haven't been highjacked and rules applied/moderated consistently, sadly this one isn't.

Franco, is your phone an iPhone or android based one? There is an app for this site if it is that loads a hell of allot quicker and, IMO, runs allot better then the website

Is there a Charltonnut on here, if you mean me i am Charltonnutnut not Charltonnut, I am not AckAck and I have never met him that i know of, I just know that he is a legend from the early days of Voice of the Valley and proper Charlton, i saw him on here and joined to say hello because he seems a good lad but not like that, I'm not gay lol, but then I noticed all the people who have joined just to bully and abuse him, best example is 56 years who has made 28 posts, 26 of which are direct attacks on AckAck, redflag and eddiefurlong are also bad, I don't understand what Jonathon has done wrong, and those that attack him like 56 years have only joined here because he's on it, same with me, I recognised his username and joined to back him up, because he's proper Charlton and doesn't deserve lemon smugglers like 56 years bullying him because he annoyed them at a game once in 1994, some people need to move on and live and let live, that is all I will say on the matter And I have never been abusive, let's start talking about the football please, thank you, COMEONYOUREDS.
