Shop girl suspended after calling John Terry a 'pig' and a 'disgrace' in conversation overhead by Chelsea star A shop assistant was suspended from work and forced to apologise after calling Chelsea defender John Terry 'a pig' and 'a disgrace'. Elisha Ram, 23, was working at a department store concession when the former England captain and his wife Toni walked in - and overheard her telling a colleague 'he is quite good looking in real life - but he's a pig.' A tearful Miss Ram said she was sorry, but the defender demanded to see her manager at Bentalls in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, to complain about her conduct. Miss Ram was then suspended from her job at the store's All Saints concession, pending an investigation by her bosses. Miss Ram said she had greeted Terry, 33, as he walked into the shop on Monday, before turning to her workmate and told them her feelings on the footballer, describing him as a pig. The worried colleague told Miss Ram to be quiet, and she then realised the conversation had been overheard by Mrs Terry, who married the footballer in 2007 after the pair started dating as teenagers. The footballer, who lives in nearby Oxshott, then reportedly marched towards Miss Ram, and told her she should not have called him a pig while his wife was present. 'I said I was really really sorry. Then I just snapped, got defensive and retaliated, saying, 'you're a disgrace,' Miss Ram's friend told The Sun's Andy Crick. Terry then asked to see her the manager, telling Miss Ram's boss that he wouldn't have commented on Miss Ram as he did not know her, adding: 'And she doesn't know me to call her a pig.' According to The Sun, Miss Ram told a friend that she had made the pig remark after reading reports which alleged Terry had cheated on his wife, who is mother to his twin children Georgie John and Summer Rose - who turn eight on Sunday. It was claimed Terry had an affair with the former girlfriend of his then Chelsea teammate Wayne Bridge, French model Vanessa Perroncel. She denied having an affair with Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy following reports about their relationship in 2010, saying that the pair were 'friends'. A spokesman from clothing company All Saints said it was not the brand's policy to comment on matters relating to individual staff members. It is understood that senior shop staff sent a formal written apology to Terry, who last week signed a new 12 month deal with Chelsea, taking him to 20 years with the west London club. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...grace-conversation-overhead-Chelsea-star.html Adorable bloke covering himself in glory yet again.
Storm in a tea cup. He's heard much worse at the football. To be fair it was a silly to pass comment and to be indiscreet about it!
Sadly, she'll probably get the sack. You'd think he'd be big enough to just laugh it off as abuse is par for the course with footballers, by doing this he just makes himself look even more precious. I think Shefford sums him up perfectly...
I like the 'you shouldn't have said that in front of my wife' bit. Implying that if the subtle and understated wife 'Toni' had not been present it would have been fine. I would have thought that 'Toni', of all people, could vouch for the accuracy of the porcine description. And indeed it's inadequacy in capturing the full range of Mr Terry's characteristics.
Forget about it being John Terry; it's not a great idea to vocalise a negative opinion of your customers. No good will ever come of it.
Can't see the girl did anything wrong and rather surprised Toni didn't agree with the Miss Ram. But I think Shefford has it bang on once again!
JT is a chav with a chav dad, chav mum, chav brother. In fact he's the worst sort of chav, a chav with money.
Dare I say it, I think John Terry is right in this case. Let's face it, I expect we would all react in a somewhat similar fashion. I think the general opinion of John Terry - entirely understandable based on his past conduct - is however clouding judgement on this matter. What if it was one of us; we were minding our own business, out shopping with the wife or dear old mum and someone said something offensive. I think we would do much the same; find the duty manager, and make a complaint.
I cannot disagree. I would not be happy if it was me. However, that doesn't make any difference to the fact the John Terry is a ****!
Bet you wouldn't mind if Joey Barton called you a pig in a shop. Hopefully Sku you haven't done anything to merit a total stranger calling you a pig. Terry has.
Its not offensive if its true. You and your mum arent complete scumbags so youd have every right to be offended. It you had Terrys rap sheet then you wouldnt. The two cases arent comparable.
I've been called much worse, I'm sure we all have. As for minding, I've calmed down a lot since I've read this book: please log in to view this image Armand Traoré reckons it's been a good read too! Perhaps he'll pass on a copy to John Terry next season!
TBH, she got what she deserved (even though I hate the p**ck with all my heart), if anything for her own stupidity in saying it out loud. Everyday I have to deal with people who shout, scream, threaten and are generally obnoxious. I have to deal with people who's morals and beliefs I detest but I wouldn't dream of slagging them off within earshot. If you are doing a job in the service industry then you've gotta show some kind of professionalism.
