Anyone else getting the feeling we are trying to walk the ball in too much?? It seems we get to the edge of the box and we panic and try and give someone else the responsibility of scoring. The closest we came tonight was Morgans effort (which waswell saved tbf). I just feel that we should maybe encourage a more shoot on sight policy unless there is someone in an obviously superior position. Thoughts....
i tend to agree, but teams seem to close us down so there is a rarely a golden chance to have a dig from range
Totally agree and the biggest culprit tonight was Lallana! twice he had the chance to smack it first time but he ended up trying to dance his way to the net!
There was the time when we shouted why didn't you shoot yourself, but that was Puncheon and for a different reason! I still love that Wayne Thomas goal!
I know that teams are closing us down quicker, but I must say it either looks like a lack of confidence or dare I say it, an instruction from Adkins to keep possession until we are on the goal line! There is no doubt that giving away a goal kick relieves the pressure built up, and can sometimes lead to a quick break for our opponents, but it is frustrating. When was the last time Lallana curled one into the top corner? In fact, how many goals have we scored from outside the area recently?
I'm tempted to say that we haven't scored a goal from outside the box since our very first goal of the season (Hammond vs Leeds). I do agree about pulling the trigger more, especially from outside the box (Guly seems happy to do so, but that's it really), but don't forget that we have some idiots in the crowd who'll quickly turn against you if you regularly miss the target* *(Yes, I am have a dig at those who abused Puncheon just because he was trying something different; trying something to get us a goal)
Dosnt help when rickie beats the man, about to fire it from 20 yards and the defender falls in front of him and gets awarded a free kick for his efforts .
