I'd take him in an instant. Dunno what you lot are on about. We have no centre forwards, he is one. He can hold it up and bring others into the game, as it is it comes straight back and we invite too much pressure onto us.

Dunno what state he's in currently, but a fit n firing Shola would be very useful to us currently.

He's a Mackam Slaya ya knaaaa.

Personally I think he's sh**e, if he's our main target, we're struggling. If he comes he'll be judged in the fullness of time

If he comes I'll support him while heartedly but not what I'm hoping for!
However since posting the original post I'm now thinking maybe a good player who is an underwhelming signing rather than an over hyped player who lets us down. At least I'm not expecting anything from him!

Sort of keep your expectations low, to avoid disappointment ?

That's why we're going down, that's why we're going down...

In all honesty he's the type of big unit we need to fit into our style and is hardly going to be the first name on the team sheet. If £4m for Gestede is beyond our budget then we're hardly spoiled for choice when it comes to strikers.

Still, I'd rather just persevere with Sagbo. He played **** against Arsenal granted but he was just starting to grips with things and put in some good performances when we spent £15m on Long and Jelvaic and he barely stepped on the pitch ever since. He can be a good player if his heart is set on the cause, potentially a better option than Ameobi.

As I said, I don't know how his fitness / match sharpness is currently.

But if he's at the top of his game then he's in a ****ing different league to soddin' Sagbo.

    Worth a punt IMO.

My initial feeling was one of underwhelm. But then, I remembered that he did have some purple patches for the Geordies, and he is a nuisance.

He also knows what it takes in the Premier League.

He's gotta be better than Sagbo currently, and may I remind you all of the name of a certain Dele Adebola.

    It ain't that bad.

He'll do a job whilst jela and Hernandez are injured and will be a good 3rd option, we can't afford to shop elsewhere apparently so why not

    Stop fibbing Albert.

    You love him.

Never met a Geordie yet who didn't appreciate his close ball control. His vision. His speed over 20 yards. His shooting accuracy.

    I could go on.
