We might actually have a hope in hell.

England got significantly better today. Twice in one summer now.

we have lossed 2 very good england players now, yeah don't play for utd do they!

problem was always fitting them in but are wilshere and barkeley really the way forward?

what is the experience in the team now? a player who as managed one world cup goal in 3 attempts? great lol must be world class <laugh>

Two useless England players. Nothing good about either from an england POV.

Thats just how it was. Neither had the intelligence to work as a pairing amd neither worked with any other partner.

To think of who was shifted out left because some fools thought the 2 new kids were amazing.

They werent. At any point in their england careers.

Great players, top players, dreadful international footballers.

Think about it. Shearer had someone like scholes and gascoine behind him while rooney had a massive **** up.

Is this a Paul scholes whinge really? Aw bless....

Get back on topic! This is a luagh at lampard moment

He got very very lucky to go to another World Cup, he was never ever getting a kick if there was anything at stake and he should have lined this up in interview he actually got over there in England kit

Didn't the entire England team retire from international duty around June?

i always felt it was because carrick was always injured and so lampard had to play which ****ed england up as unlike lampard gerrard was versatile and got shifted around which wasn't good from an england point of view.

i know we have barkeley etc coming through now, but think we have missed a trick with the england team we had of cole,.lampard, gerrard, terry and a better rooney etc.

****e managers havent helped obviously, esp roy.

I think that England team got to the level it merited.

    Qfs

Seriously.... Terry is not worldie, he's a classic English league defender but England had a good unit in Neville, Ferdinand terry cole but... England had joe cole Gerrard playing left wing... It's not all about cm and scholes it's a genuine lack of technical brilliance.

Brazil went with Fred and once neymar was gone so were they... Argentina had two/three and they carried the rest. Holland had robben....

But.... Spain had thier pick over last 6 years and now it's faded a bit

England in ten years have made.... Rooney ten years ago and who? No really who? Walcott!!!!! OX!!!! Nah the truth of England is we got where we deserved and we are now where we deserve to be as well

As Carragher said, if Scholes was such a brilliant midfield playmaker Ferguson wouldn't have signed Veron to play in that role for Man Utd. He was a good player carried by the great players around him.

  20. With him and Gerrard having retired, I guess that truly is the end of the long term debate :(
