I thought I would start a separate thread to explain the sponsorship idea.

Firstly I would like to say the idea is to raise money for the club and NOT to advertise not606. Putting the not606 name to the sponsorship is just an aside because we all post on here (and because Mick pays for the running of the site out of his own pocket) but the final name could always be something else.

Secondly people could use it as a sort of raffle where you could win CAFC prizes.

Finally it always annoys me when looking at other team's programmes that most of their team seem to have shirt sponsors whereas with us about half of the available packages are not taken up.

Super obtained the following information this afternoon regarding what a package entails -
So far we have people willing to pledge £200 so this leaves us some way short of even the lowest option. I will keep the sticky thread open until the weekend and if there are not sufficient numbers interested I will just drop the idea.

Thank you to Super for finding the details for me and also a big thank you to all those who have pledged so far <ok>

    <cheers>

    AllHell

    PS,
Is £25 too high? Would people prefer £20 or £10? Could it be that each share is for £10 and people could 'buy/invest' in several shares (like CL do)?

MaYbe if people feel more comfortable- PM AH donations if you dint want figures to be publically displayed.

Will be a great opportunity- some fantastic prizes up for grabs and helping the club always a good cause. I have an excel spreadsheet of available options too, if people are interested?

Either I could PM people with my address and cheques could be sent to me or we could perhaps ask the lady who deals with sponsorship at the club to act as a post office and hold cheques until I give her a cheque to cover the sponsorship.

The club would probably not want a lot of little cheques due to bank charges.

Or if you want to pay cash I could meet people in 'bartrams' prior to Bournemouth game.

First off, this idea isn't for me so I will politely decline the offer of joing a shirt sponsership party, BUT.........
I would more more than happy if we could do something else, more youth team based?

Give the club £500 quide say to sponser the u16 player of the years kit ever season, or some thing?

    Just my £0.02 worth

AllHell - I attempted something like this on the Gills board, so far you are having slightly better success than me, so good luck <ok>

On the subject of payment, had you thought about paypal, not something I've used myself but when I attempted this with my lot, it seemed an accepted method of payment.

Re youth- we could do a valley gold syndicate for every home game?

And for what it's worth re shirt sponsorship- I was thinking a bover or cousins would have been good.

    just for my 2pence worth

regarding the old chesnut of trust and all that...id have no problem transferring funds to all hell. for the kind of sums involved, where`s the risk? i cant see anything untoward happening. that is just my opinion

i also see the sense in cafc4ever`s post. is there some other area to concentrate on? id also prefer a youth angle.

i think its a good idea because it promotes spirit in this community. i reckon most people appreciate that...

Even if you can put your name forward for a small contribution- will all help in trying to fulfill a sponsorship.

Just think- you could be sharing some tapas with Ruben Bover, or fish and chips with Danny Green come May. By that time, might be league champions too!!

Any ideas/suggestions/hesitations from members- then please share them. Even if it is to politely decline, it's important that AH knows so he could potentially switch his focus to other areas.

I am happy to bung in £25, I am away for a couple of weeks and will miss the first game of the season (I cannot believe she has been so cruel to me AGAIN)so I am not sure if this makes it an issue
