So far we have signed 3 players: Jenkinson, Gervinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Jenkinson has been given the number 25 shirt for next season, but Gervinho and Oxlade Chamberlain are as of yet numberless. Free numbers are: 9, 12, 22, 26, and some high other ones. So far in pre-season, Gervinho has worn the number 22 shirt, but as this has not been confirmed as his shirt number for next season, I don't think he will be wearing it come the end of the transfer window. I would personally prefer it if Gervinho got the number 9 shirt, although I can't help but feel that since he doesn't have a shirt number yet and that is free, he is waiting to see if anyone others open up before the end of the transfer window (i.e. Nasri's 8). Oxlade-Chamberlain wore 26 for Southampton, which is free, but I would also not be surprised if he took 12.
chamberlain had just recently moved numbers to number 11, but i would have liked almunia to leave wojciech to move to number 1 ryo to number 13 gervinho to number 15 chamberlain to number 12 squillaci to -- (nothing, release him) samba/cahill/jagielka to number 18
