good interview in the chronicle today
    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newc...2/toon-fans-make-kuqi-crumble-72703-28324223/

Seems like a genuine nice lad,
If only some players who think of themselves as super stars could have the same down to earth attitude. Yes Kuqi may not be of the great player breed but throughout his career he would still be earning **** loads of money and has obviously kept himself grounded, professional and humble.
Hopefully he can show the way to messers such as Ranger.
We need more footballers at the club with the heart and desire of the KUQI monster <ok>

He seems like a genuine guy, its just a shame Pardew only gives him the last 5 mins of games which is a shame because the way he talks about us already would suggest he'd give his all a would create some problems.

I think its a good shout he will get more time against Stoke due to his physical presence

I was thinking the same but seeing as Ameobi can now play again and usually Ranger comes on as a sub for the last 20 mins it would seem to me that he'll be warming the bench again until the last 5 mins.

Not so sure if Ameobi and his mask would be well suited to playing Stoke. Barging into other players in a physical team wouldn't bode well for his cheek fracture.

It's always good to hear positive media about a player - it just sticks in my throat that he is the replacement for Andy Carroll and not a very good one either!
His heart is in the right place but his poor quality is nothing to get excited about, frankly.

He isnt Carroll's replacement in any way, shape or form nor has he been made out to be. He is Shola's replacement because we thought his season was over and now he's an extra body and option to have up front.

Well no, he isn't the long-term replacement as he's 35 and nearing the end of his career - he's Carroll's replacement in that Carroll left and he has replaced the space left by Carroll in the striking department.

He seems like a genuinely nice guy, just trying to make the most of his opportunity that he is very grateful for, hope he scores at some point.

    Really?

It's interesting that you could have such an over-the-top reaction to such a mild comment - it's almost as if you're a drama queen...<diva>

Jesus, it's as if they're saying it's his fault that he plays for us...

If you're going to be that literal about it, then surely he's Xisco's replacement? He left before Carroll, so the next guy in replaces him.

Xisco's away and we're short on strikers so we still needed a bit extra cover.

Also true, but we all know he's not going to play for us again and one way or another, is off in summer.

And his loan ends at the same time Kuqi's contract ends, so its certainly arguable that he is his replacement.

He's only here till the end of the season, is it that hard to back him for 9 or so games?
