We'll lose this. They've lost all 5 games, that run cannot continue. Selles will be out of a job by Wednesday.
The word is Chris Wilder may be back at United in a day or two. But I don't know how many of his old squad are still there. Enough to make Saturday's game interesting I should think. Nathan Jones now has a ready-made excuse if we fail to win. The test of a good manager is to get the result despite circumstances and coincidental timing. I'm still hopeful we can pull off our first away win of the season.
Knibbs & Tanto may still be serving a penance after Cambridge - or maybe they didn't take it very well. Can't say with Mannion. Only one start, against Stevenage. On the bench once against Cambridge. Clearly 3rd choice. Is goalkeeping a weakness for us presently?
Mannion improved a lot last season and was outstanding in the playoffs final. Really commanded his box in a way that Kaminski hasn't done so far. I wonder if there could be a bust up there?
I'm not up to speed with exactly what's wrong with Matt Godden, or when he is expected back. What's the current thinking?
According to CL he's recovering from a knee operation. He's running on grass but not yet training with the first team. If this is accurate we won't see him before November.
Hmmm, I did not realise that. Regardless of the manager change after their defeat to Ipswich I have convinced myself they cannot lose another to continue the run. A draw for us at best.
That was a hard watch but tbf we just about did enough to shade it. The goal and the points are all that mattered.
Get a result any way we can - that was today's brief. No doubt many observers had us down as the fall guys today. Great victory
