Everything! Interesting results tonight. If we hit some form tomorrow, we could just get a head of steam up and take hard earned points the next few difficult games.
Can't remember the last time we won on Sky, was it the 1-0 win over Charlton in the play offs season, Noel Hunt's late winner? Either way, Sheffield Wednesday strike me as one of those teams that will outplay our tactically outdated manager and technically limited squad. A lot of huff and puff from our lot, but I think we'll lose 2-1. Looking ahead at our next fixtures, things are about to get incredibly difficult. In order, we face Aston Villa (away), Derby County (away), Nottingham Forest (home), Middlesbrough (away), Reading (home), and Wolves (away). I really cannot see us picking up many points against those sides.
Both sides are playing like mid table plodders so I expect the match to be a painful example of the standard of championship football. I actually think we'll huff and puff and come away with something. We have a decent record at home, midweek, under lights... so hopefully that outweighs our SkyTV jynx and we come away with all 3 points. Mick has already said he'll be making changes so it will be interesting to see who makes way, or more importantly who comes in (Sears, Ward and Iorfa would be my guesses) but I think we'll edge this 2-1 as they are no great shakes at the minute either.
All the stats point in our favour - Midweek game at home - check. Away to Sheff Weds - Check. BUT - we never win when live on TV, especially midweek. As pointed above, Sheff Weds are far more superior tactically to us (then again, who isn't??) They have ex-canary Hooper playing, ex-town Rhodes in their team also, so both will always go the extra mile to score against us. I think this game could be entertaining, in that both teams will think they can win this one. I can see it going the same way as Saturdays game against Hull. We'll go 1 up, then they'll come back to lead 2-1, but we'll "nick" a draw with a late goal from a defender. 2-2
Oh the sheer EUPHORIA when Noel Hunt scored at the very death! Me and my lad were charging round the living room like demented loons!
Last time we won on TV was the MK Dons away game when we won 1-0 in 15/16. According to my calculations, we haven't won in 6 attempts on TV, including Lincoln (attempt? debatable)
1-2 defeat. Rhodes and Hooper for them, ward for us with a consolation. "But Wednesday are a proper team, with proper players"
I have a gut feeling about this, call it seaweed, tea leaves, Suffolk Punch horse ****, I am going 2-1 lively entertaining game, A win would put us back in the mix and more confident about the next 5 tricky matches.
Only one change.. Surprising that he's gone for Celina whilst Kenlock is playing. Thought he'd go for Sears or Nydam and give him a bit of cover but he's clearly going for it in possibly the most attacking line up he could.
