A game to forget, we were shocking even before the red card, though the ref was just dreadful and spoilt the game. Allahyar looked bright when he came on, Matty Jacobs did well, other than that not much to say. If Morton's red is upheld, which is shouldn't be, then with Seri and Traore away we are really wafer thin in midfield. You have to feel sorry for the 3500 fans going to the game, not what they expected to see.
Biggest concern is not having seri or Morton available to get us playing - even Traore looked alright there but as summed up by the pass leading to Morton’s tackle (never a red), Slater isnt the answer in there, especially without the influence of one of the two previously mentioned alongside him, and Docherty is just short at this level.
That was terrible. Think the four games in ten games really highlighted our lack of depth. Ref was shocking.
Why do oppo attackers play lots of neat give and goes to get round our backs , with players overlapping etc - we Do Not !! Sick of seeing it
1 win in 4 over Xmas, and some poor performances. At least we’ve still got our enviable style of play. Hope no one susses how to play against us or we are toast
Well that was a pity - CIty didn't do enough in the first 35 minutes to suggest that they deserved a win but the sending off (and particularly the specific player sent off) had an inevitable impact on the game. I also noted that their 3rd goal came following a corner when Greaves was clearly pushed in the back but a foul was given against City The commentator didn't mention the push but did say that he couldn't really see what City had done to deserve a free kick against them. From the free kick Sheffield broke away and scored the third. A bad day for us but we're still in a decent position and I'm assuming there'll be an appeal against the red card.
it was men v boys today. We have no one in defence that can put a crunching tackle in & a powder puff midfield. Weds got stuck in to City & we had no response. That is not only embarrassing, it’s worrying
Unfortunately fc massive are also improving was never going to be easy, Squad no, but clearly a couple of the 1st 11 are
Very normal reactions to a defeat as ever on here. People never seem to acknowledge this but, again we've been given a finishing masterclass there. Wednesday didn't create a serious chance after the red card, but they battered in three absolute beauties out of very little. Same thing Ipswich did. It's such a huge thing in this league where the margins are so tight. That game probably should've been 0-0 realistically.
Biggest concern for me is starting games poorly is becoming a bit of a trend. How has that not been dealt with by now.
Architects of our own downfall tonight. Red may have been harsh, but slater gave it away needlessly 5 seconds before, coyle gave it away before their 1st and think slater again lost it before their 2nd. Couple of good finishes for them tbf, can't blame keeper. On the plus sides thought allahyar looked bright when he came on and it's only a 15 min drive home.
We need 2 centre mids really, slater looks a decent player everywhere but central midfield.. just technically not good enough and went missing in the centre as usual. No comment needed on the Doc, ship out and replace.
Same reactions due to the same problems and short commings yet again by us/LR. He got it wrong before and during the game today, just as he got it right recently as well.....for some reason though you and certain others seem to ignore it when he gets it wrong and burry your heads.
