Think its about time some started using the ignore button rather than the constant fights. One regular poster has been banned because he uses the wrong bait when fishing ...... Ok so as we are under new management on the pitch it will be interesting to see the team Heckythump starts with. I will stick my neck out and say we will play 4-4-2 with Pontus Pennington Anita and LDB at the back and Lassoga and Roberts up top. I have no idea who will play in the middle but guessing on Forshaw, Viera & Pablo and maybe Cibicki. I have a feeling Alioski will be taught how to man up so will be on the bench. I think Cibicki will shine under the new boss. Its also come out tonight that Radz has apologised for the problems, he took the blame for employing Tommy, took the heat off Orta as it was Orta who wanted to save Tommy as Radz wanted to sack him early January. Radz also stated that he thinks the new guy is a leader and we need a leader so went for him instead of a more experienced manager. It sounds like top 6 is now off the table as Radz says he is looking at the new guy long term to see how we do next season. The telling one for me is that Orta/Radz and the new guy are looking at every player to see who deserves to be here and who doesn't. Sounds like we are hunting for bear this time and players will live or die on their effort and performance. Klich may have thrived under this guy instead of being frozen out? Lets see how the players respond, lets see how those sitting it out with bans come back and lets hope they struggle to get in because those playing now make it hard for them. Kick off at Steel City 12:30 Saturday but if you want streams the best around are from https://twitter.com/fitzystreams_& https://twitter.com/LufcStreams either of these guys on twitter will have a live stream working and always good quality. Check them out 15 minutes before kick off and Fitzy has streams for every football or sporting event anywhere.
Good job No poll on the score? In the absence of success on the pitch, at least this change of manager has made me interested. Will be intrigued to see who he picks, what formation, how the players respond etc I’m also thinking that playing players like Alioski, Pablo, Roofe and Sais (when he’s not gobbing on people), means we have too weak a line up physically. I can also see Alioski on the bench, though I quite like the guy - yes the falling over is a joke, but he tackles back well
Having listened to all the interviews given by our new coach PH I have to say everything about him seems to be exactly what we need. Whether he is any good as a coach only time will tell but he comes across as very confident, assertive and most importantly a typical Yorkshireman who will not suffer fools gladly. The players will have to step up now or ship out as it seems failure will not be tolerated anymore and nor should it.
Strange that he is looking at the new gaffer for long term but only given him a short deal Unfortunately our budget only lets Orta sign players that are unknowns which obviously means our success rate is about 1 good in 7 signings
No idea what has kicked off today, I’m assuming there has been more handbags at dawn. I’ve noticed the supermods checking in a few times recently, either way great thread Doc but I hope Elland returns.... More confident in the appointment now the dust has settled, I’m thinking he is going for 4-1-3-2 The strikers Roberts and Lasogga three forward midfielders Dallas, Hernandez, Forshaw, defensive midfielder Vieira or Phillips. Let’s hope it’s the start of a positive new chapter.
Can we decide who's worse.....Gjianni i have no left foot and I'm soft as **** Alioski or Kemar I think I'm far better than Inactually am Roofe Who do we drop for Tyler Roberts?
Hope I'm wrong Jammy and I don't want to start sounding like Glory. But how many times have we heard all this talk whenever a new man is in town. Words are easy, doing it is harder. I'm a lot more patient than your average Leeds Utd supporter, so I'll back this new lad. I'm still amazed that we'd get a Leeds Utd hater, a manager that left his last club fourth from bottom and no wins in 16. It'll prove to be either genius or a complete flop on Raz. Only at Leeds United.
Lol I know. But I have to give the guy a chance. There are 3 positives I can see about him to hold onto as we search for straws to grasp: He has come over reasonably well in his first interviews (though it’s not too difficult to sound ok before your team has played under you, and I only said reasonably well not like a friggin football genius) I went on Barnsley chat rooms when it was announced and despite recent performances they regretted his going. A lot said he did well until the club sold all his best players. (They are turning against him now but that’s because he’s taking the back room as well and he’s gone to the hated LUFC) He did do well getting promotion and first half of last season (until the team was sold) Anyway, we’ll see
I got the impression that all future players coming in will be discussed with PH, this is different from TC as we knew he was only told when deals were done. Think Orta and Radz have recognised a flaw so will plug it. As far as the managers contract goes, it seems to be the sensible thing to do these days at every club. If things are not working out by next season he will be asked to leave and compensation paid up to the end of the season. How long contract did Coleman get at Sunderland because his job is already on the line. So it seems on this board we are around 95% behind the new guy which is great, lets hope he does a job. I wonder if we'll see a surprise in team selection? I bet Nessy wont be playing but Maybe Tom Pearce will
It'll be interesting what team he selects. I'm a bit nervous regarding the Blades game. Will the players he selects up their game and compete or will we concede an early goal and heads drop and we get thumped by 4 or 5. We were hammered at home by them and we had more or less a first team out.
When Thomas was sacked, the assistant and fitness coach were also shown the door. Butler was the assistant and some Spanish guy sourced by Orta was the fitness guy. I said at the time I think we must have a new guy plus two coming in and I thought it a little strange as usually a new guy will ask for some feedback. I’m guessing PH is giving everyone a fresh start, no outside influence, just what he sees for himself on the training pitch? In his interview he said he would like to bring along the entire backroom from Barnsley and he hinted he had to settle for two for now but insinuated others could follow later. I believe the more he “proves” himself the more he will be listened to in regards to backroom setup and future signings. More a case of “I need a new attacking right side midfield player” and Orta goes out and sources him one or a selection to pick from... All just theory
Not sure about that interview, I like some of the honesty but I don’t feel comfortable with the Thomas put downs. I hate to admit it but it does come over a bit too PR for me. One thing I do like very much, he has made it clear changing 10 players for a cup game and losing is not acceptable. Maybe next year we might actually try and progress in the cup a little..
Not so sure about putting Forshaw so far forward Ristac, it leaves our CB's positions back at square one. Forshaw did some great driving with the ball through the middle at the opposing defence, and had 2 good games so far. Shouldn't change what ain't broke imo, put Forshaw in the CB's and leave Phillips as far away as possible, send him to Barnsley, he also spends a lot of time looking at the camera, bet he's got a few mirrors in his house......
But we were very broken last time out so it does need fixing. I’m pretty sure we’ll see the 4-1-3-2 or Diamond formation I have a feeling under the new guy we might not see Alioski, Hernandez and Saiz in the same team again. We’re not going to leave more than any two from O’Kane, Forshaw, Vieira, Anita, Phillips out of the team, this new guy will want to add some bite, you see We’re going to include two on Saturday and my bet is Phillips holding in front of the back for and Forshaw pushed forward. If we go 4-4-2 Phillips and Forshaw in the middle.. just how I see the new guy doing it
What impressed me is, Radz happy to step up and accept responsibility for his mistake, shows he's learning. Also, while some may disagree, Radz was straight and up front in what he said about TC, basically he said, the players looked mentally drained and there was a lack of communication between TC and the players, lack of communication can, and probably does include regular contact. He also mentioned Orta kept telling him to give TC 1 more chance, 1 more chance, and so on, got a funny feeling Orta may lose a bit of power, and trust from Radz.....
