v v Tuesday 11th March 2025 8:00pm Well onto one of the favorites for a top two spot tomorrow night in Sheffield as Bristol City take on Sheff Utd. i was expecting three points at home on Saturday to Hull-however only getting one really puts the onus on us to try and get the three points tomorrow evening. Is it likely to happen no- but as Pompey showed yesterday in beating Leeds football is a funny old game. Can we do it well if we were on top form and scoring goals yes-but we cannot score even if it were in a brothel. Reality is Sheff Utd should take all three points-i would take a draw but really we could do with three points to keep us on the footsteps on 5th and 6th spot. Sheff Utd winning 5 of their last six games the only loss to Leeds 3-1 at Bramall Lane. This is as tough a game that city can expect in the championship I'M going 2-0 to Sheff Utd. Anything from this game is a bonus come the end of play.
I’ve said before on threads at times when we have been thinking about the playoffs; IF by some miracle we DID manage to get to the Prem, teams like Sheffield United would be one of our EASIER games!!! It just shows the gulf between the leagues. I would bite a hand off for a draw with this fixture. I’ll be watching the game from Benalmádena - off on my hols for the next 3 weeks - and it’s pissing it down over there
I’m not sure the exact amount, but don’t promoted teams get around £100m just for being promoted, which kinda helps in bringing in some PL quality players, plus of course parachute payments etc in the eventuality that they get relegated. Enjoy your break, even if the weathers crap at present .
R&W The weather's not great till Saturday then unbroken sunshine the following week. Have a great time. Like you say, more than happy with a point but very unlikely.
I think the amount you get for promotion to the Premiership is £160m ? Either way I can’t see us getting anything up there I’m afraid but stranger things have happened
Anything more than a single point would be great but really I can't see us coming away with a win but you never know.
At Tange’s sports bar - they’ve promised to put the game on for us in a corner away from the Liverpool game!! Good to see Wells back on the bench….
Can't believe Armstrong didn't score. Played well for 45minutes, hope we can do the same in the 2nd half. I wonder if/how Wilder will change up their game. Whatever pleased so far.
No idea how Armstrong didn’t score, Max kept us in it a couple of times, and Tanner back to his best to prevent a tap in.
